There was once a German-built propeller train, based on a blimp. Fantastic speeds, smooth ride, safe for passengers. Not so safe for people on the platform. Became a character on Thomas, named Hugo. Many design features were incorporated into “the Hamburg Flyer,” whose name is more directly translated to the much funnier, “Flying Hamburger.”
