I always liked Dean more than Frank.
For a sobering look for some that haven’t checked out the strip lately, link to Vegas street cams:
Just zoom in to the Vegas area and check it out. It any film companies needed to do some chase scenes, now would be the time to do it. LOL!
It’s still Frank’s world...we just live in it.
I just watched the 1978 Dean Martin roast of Frank Sinatra over the weekend. I knew every person on the show, someday I might write a book
Two members of the Rat Pack, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin took part in a birthday celebration/political rally for Ronald Reagan in 1980 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, which I attended. I got to hear Sinatra sing—he led us all in singing, “Happy Birthday.”
From a time of class...
to now... a time of crass.
Those guys were always dressed to the max. Pure style.
Now... thugs, sluts, hoods, and butts.
I miss old America. Truly.
(Gramps knows his trivia).
Sammy Davis, Jr. was an incredible performer. When I was young, I was visiting my father in NY over the summer, and he was taking his girlfriend at the time to see him live, and he took me too. I really wasn’t interested in going, I was only 9 or 10 at the time, but I did like his song, “The Candyman.”
Even as a little kid, I was really amazed and thoroughly enjoyed the concert. Looking back at it, I’m so glad that I had the opportunity to see him perform live. Of course he was a great singer and dancer, but he was also a terrific comedian and did some of the most amazing impressions. He was a consummate performer.

What was Peter Lawfords talent that got him a place on the marquee at the dunes?
I have a print of that first picture hanging in my mancave bar. Men were men in those days.
Really good show. Save it.
