A kid who licked toilets as part of the #CoronaVirusChallenge says he's now in the hospital with coronavirus. @gayshawnmendes was also just suspended from twitter
W00t! You must be worn out, after that!
Good morning.
I overslept my inner alarm by 90 minutes, but I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, with the way my sleep has not been going.
This not being able to sleep when I want to is really messing with my system. I think I’m just going to start setting my alarm and just go ahead and get up, no matter how long or little I’ve slept. And no naps. I think it’s the only way I can beat this thing.
I DID get one thing accomplished last night — I got a letter written while I was up, waiting for sleep to overtake me. :o])
My calendar says its time to wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY, tax-chick!!!
I hope your day is great!!!
I’m sorry to hear that you were suffering just from Windows malaise.
In 1982 I started my career as a software tester. By 1988 i had decided that nobody cared about software quality because they kept buying Microsoft products.
Microsoft has gotten better over the years, but they still rely more on market muscle than a good, quality product.
Reminds me of the story about the company that dutifully tested its backup diesel generators every month.
When the power went out they had no fuel in the generators because they never checked the fuel levels after each of those dutiful tests.
Good morning, Happy Wednesday, and w00t all at once.
Kitteh says, “Don’t mess with me and your day will go better.”
Seems very Estonian.
Well, happy birthday and many happy returns.
I mean birthday returns, not tax returns.
Only this year will your birthday be so close to the dreaded day.
Thank you all! My mother phoned. My foot doesn’t hurt today (yet), so I’m going out for a little constitutional. I already finished the WSJ crossword, and now Jake is lying on it.
Later this morning, I’ll pick James and Vlad up from camp for their 24 hours off. It’s a Rule that staff under 18 have to take 24 hours off each week.
I have to agree with that. I do NOT like Microsoft! I will have to take classes in Linux before I can install it with any luck, or buy a laptop with it already installed.
Jake is worn out from doing the crossword puzzle!
Is this a seven-day week or a five-day week. Either way, a 24 hour break is a good idea.
Seven-day week. They’ll be home from about noon today to noon tomorrow, and then back at camp until midday Sunday.
Back from my walk. It’s warm and humid, but my food still doesn’t hurt, which is good. All my Spanish ladies texted birthday greetings while I was out.
I put a letter in the mail this morning and just looked at my desk to see two bookmarks. *sigh* They won’t fit in the card, so if I don’t forget, they’ll go in the next letter.
Has your family got anything planned for you for today? An evening out with DP, perhaps?
Two pair! No big plans for the day. I’m waiting for a call or text from Vlad saying it’s time to get them. Then I’ll go to the “used bread store” and get some bread for my new spread. Then discuss with the boys what we want for supper. Since James and Vlad have been eating camp food for a week, I’ll consult their preferences. (I always take my own food, even when I’m staying over.)
I might open my castle set and start planning my approach to building it. Or I might take a nap with Jake. Or both.
Maybe we’ll go out tomorrow: depends on Events.
Meanwhile, my Spanish ladies are sending me more songs and virtual bouquets, and I got some real flowers from my sister in law.
I’m going to return the Ball jar to Casey, the beekeeper, and then go to the library. My attention span these days is about 1/2” long so things that normally occupied my mind, don’t.
It’s mostly cloudy outside, but that’s OK, as long as it wasn’t as dismal as yesterday.
I hope your day is excellent!
The camping boys are back. They stink. Once they get their laundry in the basket, I’ll turn the wash on and think about going grocery shopping. I’ve decided I want Tater Tots.
While I was out, I stopped at Lin’s and bought some coconut oil to cook with. Liquid. Now the question is, do I use that or butter in the bread I plan to make tomorrow? Butter always gives bread such a nice flavor.
The only aroma therapy I’ve ever believed in was homemade bread aroma. It’s definitely therapy!
I also picked up some fish whatever-they’re-called, and will have one tomorrow with some rice. And lemon juice. ;o]
Back from shopping. Sure is hot out. I’m waiting for Frank’s friends to come get him before I go to bed with a book or a cat or whatever comes along.
Dismally Inept Lawn Service showed up again, so I ran out and covered the windshield, and they left. Tired of them and their sometimes on and other times off, attitudes.
But no sound of lawnmower, so I’ll be making plans to head for bed in a bit. I’m having no luck trying to communicate with the Kids. I just let them know of my appointment for tomorrow morning and got a very strange answer. I’ll wait. She’ll text later...
“What would Soames do?”
Cut to view of gigantic pillar of fire campfire
I’m back. The cat is still napping. My choir members have switched from virtual flowers to real flowers and wine. Another is coming over in a few minutes.
I suddenly feel very popular, and all I did is get older!
Well, the best laid plans...
She sent a text and asked if they could come over “in about an hour.” I don’t know if that means they’re done with their loading or if they’re taking the stuff and then loading it later. No one tells me anything.
I just know for a fact that I resent my bedtime being interrupted.
I hope your birthday turns out to be one of the best ones so far!
