A kid who licked toilets as part of the #CoronaVirusChallenge says he's now in the hospital with coronavirus. @gayshawnmendes was also just suspended from twitter
What a sweet little marmalade floof!
Good morning.
The shower has been had and I’m about ready to start the day. I think. The bed has yet to be made but there is still time for that.
What’s on the docket for the Tax-chicklets today?
Oh, the usual torture, oppression, and abuse - “Come and see the violence inherent in the system!!! - interspersed with periods of pernicious neglect.
Also, I’ll go to Walmart.
Ah. A normal day in Chaosity, NC, then. Crack that whip! Feed that slop! Yeah. THAT’s the ticket!
The clouds are supposed to disperse, but I don’t know what that means. I’ll just watch movies and keep my hands busy. Maybe tomorrow, with any luck, I can start to sort through the genealogical stuff and put it into piles according to family. I have to do it early in the day or I lose interest and end up making mistakes.
Keeping a log again is just a reminder of how truly insidious this disease is. I forgot for a while... :o|
Things are OK. The “Pause” is extended to mid-May so I won’t be going back before then. And I may not volunteer to be in the first wave if I have a choice.
If you look at the heat map of where the cases are, there’s a huge cluster in the area between DC and Boston.
My various trials have not included them getting caught, even by me. But I’m sure that’s in there.
Happy Tue —— what??? -— OK Happy Wednesday.
Sheesh, what a day yesterday was. If I get my first phone call before 8:30 it’s gonna be a rough one.
Does he speak Mandarin or Cantonese?
I suspect China will be hiring advertising and PR people by the gross for a while.
I haven’t seen a heat map for several weeks, but being out here where the cases are few and far between, I’m not curious, either.
However, I’m glad you’re away from it!
No. He can manage basic greetings and “Where is the bathroom?” in Spanish and French.
Walmart was okay today. I put gas in the Avalon, which will no longer be used by That Other Driver; paid $1.59/gal at the Exxon, but I could have gone to the Murphy’s or the QT and paid $1.57.
Speaking of other drivers, Tom the Son is supposed to come by today and pick up his turnpike bill. I would have paid it if it were under $15, but it was over $30.
I remember wayyyyyy back in the 80s Amy Grant was a guest on with Johnny Carson. She was talking about how her fiance had given her a piglet for her birthday or something. Carson asked her if the piglet dealt with holiday depression. She said, “Oh, she’s real despondent now. We’re eating her.”
After all the response died down she said, “After they reach 300 lbs they lose that ‘cute’ edge.
Also, don’t name your kids verbs.
Get up, Neil. Neil, I said get up. GET UP, NEIL!!!
That works out better as an audible.

A full episode of The Dick Van Dyke show called “Never Name a Duck.”
Since I went to Walmart yesterday (a disappointing trip, it was) I won’t go again until next week. I’d like to go more often, just to walk the store, but but these days, the aisles are too full of people with masks, and they make me nervous.
Gas is still rather high, here, but I have to buy it on payday, no matter what it costs at the time.
I don’t recall ever living in a place where there were turnpikes or toll roads of any kind. I think where we lived in CA, they instituted a toll bridge across the lower end of the Bay, but it wasn’t operating until after we moved.
Pot-bellied pigs were a fad pet for a while.
That is mostly true. Although the sows can sometimes keep a bit of it if they are sweet tempered.
No females for us. Breeding pigs is something we decided was too much trouble for too little reward. So we just buy feeder pigs.
I have another 18 days before I can truly put the garden in. Right now it is just watering the little seedlings and running the fan for a couple of hours.
LOL!
What a conundrum....
My brother’s garden died of snow already. He has to start all over.
The weather has got all Greta Thunberg.
We’ve been having Summer weather for the last two months.
30 degrees up on the hills today.
Heard on the news today that America is cut off.
Having the continent (Europe) cut of is one thing but ‘merica cut off....one thick fog.
You folks all okay over there?
