My assumption is that the logarithmic curve you looked at for State of WA data and feel we have reached an inflection point is for “positive cases?”

Is that correct?

There is a new Wall Street Journal article out that the nursing home in Kirkland threw a Mardi Gras party which contributed to the problem.

“The day the Life Care Center of Kirkland, Wash., went into scrub-down mode, it threw a Mardi Gras party. The coronavirus took hold and never let go. (Updates previous language that misstated the day of the party.).....”

I would wager that attorneys are going to be litigating that nursing home company for decades.

Post 73 has a link to a twitter thread that shows Washington State data compared to New York, Wuhan, Italian Cities, etc.
Washington state is fairly “flat” and deaths are doubling every 5 days or so.

New York is doubling every 2 days.

Different strain? Cultures? Management? Population density?

Yes. Positive cases is a function of testing prevalence, as has been pointed out on FR once or twice ;) - but if there's a good way of modeling that out, I haven't heard or thought of it.

Different strain? Cultures? Management? Population density?

Each one of those could be a factor IMO.

our local health dept official keeps saying how this covid is not even near peaking.....but the numbers say different...

however, conveniently, the dept of health doesn't had up to date numbers because of a "technical" issue....

we've had a very low death rate here anyway...

we can't even go fishing....

now there is local talk of having grocery stores restrict the number of shoppers at one time....

glad there was a taller older guy shopping near me today who could reach the half and half....

in our local rag, page one, was an article about how cases in Wash. State are surging, blah, blah , blah....

however deep in the article it talks about how they really aren't sure, and also that the Wash. State DOH has technical issues and there has been no new data for a couple of days....

lying, fabricating media....
