NY has as many cases as they want to find.

Because Cuomo and DeBlasio did not do their jobs early it’s now a national problem and Trump has to spend our money to bail them out,

“Cuomo said 54% of the cases were identified in patients between 18 and 49 years old, challenging previous thoughts that younger people faced a lower risk from the virus.”

No it doesn’t. This is flat lie. Everyone has the same opportunity to catch the virus. But the severity of the illness is determined by the health and age of the patient.

If you have a patient between 18 and 49 that has asthma, heart disease or is diabetic, if that patient stays indoors, and has no contact with anyone until this virus runs its course, they will not get the disease. If you have a person between 18 and 49 that goes out and has close contact with people, they stand a far better chance of getting the virus but a better chance of a lesser effect. It’s this type of manure that scares people for no reason.

Furthermore, it indicates that Cuomo and his staff have done a terrible job of passing information and protecting the people in the state. He ought to be screaming at the Business Insider demanding they retract the column. Unless they are telling the truth as he told them.

Suddenly - within about one week - New York has six times more infections than Washington state?

Very hard to believe.

Cuomo says more than half are under 50.

In Washington state, just 7% are under 60!

Very strange.

Do not get hung up on age. Age is not the factor, strength of the immune system is.

I don’t think that number has been updating. Too many other Nations have zero and many confirmed cases. Germany has 22k cases & 2 serious, many other examples of impossible serious case numbers.

By lumping numbers into “from 18 to 49” they hide how many are “18 to 20”, “21 to 29”, “30 to 40”, “41 to 48”.

It is an intentional dodge to hide the fact that older folks with already stressed or compromised health become the majority of the most severe Cov-19 patients.

I work in NYC and my last day there was Friday, March 13.

Train was half empty on way in and less than half empty on way back. Haven't been back since.

In work at home mode and might not be back there until well into April.

The question the press does not seem to ask is how many of these people are hospitalized. The pleas for masks and ventilators implies most have been, but that is not in keeping with the stats that show 90% being mild cases. It would be worthwhile if Cuomo was asked this question.

And 99.5% of them will ultimately survive.

Why does there suddenly seem to be this effort to make young people join the hysteria? No one said they are immune. But they are not dying in numbers anywhere near older people are.

....

I noticed the exact same thing!

Isn’t it interesting how they’re tweaking the narrative!

Coronavirus is the best friend the Fake News and Democrats ever had!

Innate immunity (child immunity) works. Acquired immunity (adult), not so much.

If they up the testing...of course the numbers are going to go up. But the majority are not going to die or be hospitalized or require anything.

This site is great for seeing how many additional deaths & cases yesterday & today. You can toggle to switch between today & yesterday. There was a decrease in new cases & deaths comparing yesterday & today.

Judge Lifts Trump’s Iran Travel Ban, Now NYC’s Outbreak Is Due To Travel From IranMarch 17, 2020.

The problem with that is President Trump should use his authority to tell that STUPID judge to get bent. This is a national emergency, so they say, and the President needs to start making examples of idiots like that moron.

The Johns Hopkins COVID-19 ledger says New York has 60 deaths.

If Cuomo is telling the truth about 10,000 infections, that means New York has a “Case Fatality Rate” of 0.6%.

That's better than Switzerland, which has one of the lowest CFRs in Europe.

You’re doing the right thing, in my opinion. The real ugliness will happen, when the intensive care units are overfilled with cases needing intubation. It’s only getting started, and the mythical “asymptomatic” cases turning more symptomatic will make it more interesting.
