“20% death rate - u crazy!”
In Italy right now it’s at 9% DCR. A lot more are going to die, unfortunately. For that number to go down they will need to find a hell of a lot more cases. 20%, I would have said was a reach even just a week ago. Now it doesn’t seem so crazy.
In Iran and China we don’t even know the real numbers, but in Wuhan, the Chinese government literally tore up the roads and put a military cordon around the city to enforce the quarantine. This was after their crappy HCS collapsed. There is no way they had a lower death rate than Italy.
Most places won’t be even as bad as Italy, but Spain ain’t looking so good right now. We’ll see if they can roll out the HCQ+AZT fast enough to make a difference - if it is as good as it seems.
and—that brought the US numbers into what we all predicted yesterday:
US now third behind China and Italy (officially, at least):
26,687 total cases (we predicted 26,000 yesterday)
7,304 new cases
340 total deaths
84 new deaths

“Ha ha! Really, it is strange the way customers want to lean in, nose to nose to ask for assistance. I back up, they move closer. My post office had a graphic posted to demonstrate distance that should be maintained. I would love to post it all around grocery stores.”
The last few times I was in Walmart people seemed to be carefully keeping their distance. I was. I would attribute some of what you are seeing to you paying more attention when somebody gets too close. Just a thought.
For the first time the US reported more cases than any other country in one day.
Well not publicly. I’m not rude. I’ll send you mail so you know I’m not BSing
“Get that signature!”
“@ClosingExchange launches New Curbside Closing signing option offering a convenient, germ-free signing experience amid the COVID-19 outbreak. “
We have both strains here.
When this is over, Cuomo will hang by the neck.
Even de Blasio wanted to shut down NYC a week ago. Cuomo countermanded him, and in fact publicly scorned him.
Now NY state leads the nation, BY FAR, with over 10,000 cases...over 8,000 in NYC along.
Cuomo committed a crime against the people of NY, and the nation.
“But I will be optimistic in that they are union and so if she was really sick she could have taken off work”
Post Office guy said their volume is way up.
Nobody is missing work if they can be persuaded to come in.
You might consider
Them there is fightin’ words. Don’t tread on the USA. CCP owns the Wuhan Flu. Including the political weaponization of thousands of deaths and trillions of dollars. Lock stock and double barrel, it’s on their front porch. And the Ruskies and the Iranians jumping on that porch can Kiss America’s Charmined Hiney.
“Anyone try it yet?”
I already researched it. Holes are too big.
“China is saying pneumonia like symptoms appeared in Nov and Dec of last year in #Italy”
Now, that WAS the flu!
i am thinking more as a added layer of protection.
there was that post about the various things to use like dishtowels etc.
So if you take a surgical mask or a bandana etc and add a coffee filter would you get better protection..and then add a scarf around it
the idea is to keep the viral load down.
Nope.
It was the Wuhan flu, too.
Impossible that the migrant workers didn’t bring it. Totally nonsensical.
The 20% or 9% doesnt include those who are asymptotic and, therefore, not tested. For more accurate death rate refer to South Korea where testing is widespread.
TP is made in the US. That should caterpillar its way into stores soon. Other paper products as well. Haynes is making masks, now, and some domestics are making hand sanitizer (distilleries). The US makes way more food than we consume, so it won’t be the case that it’s all gone for good. May not be the gourmet meals y’all are used to, but you won’t starve.
But I’m glad I prepped when I did.
Case fatality rate or CFR is irrelevant. What matters is the percentage of people who die who are infected - much less than 1% due to the asymptomatic people.
yeah me too. i might decide to use some of what he does...lol
I don’t think my permanent coffee filter can be adapted
But, seriously, I don’t think a coffee filter would allow enough air through. Might check that out.
Usually there is something wet you can use, like the spray they use to keep the produce moist, or condensation on a cooler/freezer. And you can usually see if someone else smeared it first. :)
