Coronavirus mortality rate is twice as high among men in Italy as it is among women, marking a "concerning trend," Dr. Deborah Birx, the White House's coronavirus task force coordinator said during a Friday briefing.
"Mortality in males seems to be [twice higher than] every age group of females," Birx said, adding that no age group or gender is immune, and that mild symptoms are not equivalent to immunity.

They knew in the cities it would come to military take over of hotels/dorms etc. ... so they gradually over 10 days made increasingly stronger controls. A little like warming up the water so the soon to be boiled frog has no idea what's going on.
That said, I'm not sure there is/was any other way.
But it just struck me reading the drudge article on the gradual military moves ... this has been planned the whole time, and while they were yak yaking about this and that economic program etc. etc. ... all necessary stuff, behind the scenes they knew what the end game was.
MAYBE it was earlier today with the meeting with the governors that they were all let in on the strategy. That's probably why Trump talked about how friendly they were. I think the docs probably scared the living doo doo out of them. Also Ilan and other's fake kind words.
Also talk of 'war'.
I'm not saying this is bad or a conspiracy. If I was president or running a mob of 300 million people ... you have to manage things, and you manage it with a gradual story. Trump HAS been playing it overly calm, almost to a fault. I think that's just the role he chose.
But for me I guess it's just dawning on me that everything we're seeing is the result of conversations and plans made 10 days ago or before.

An estimated 7.8% of individuals were hardcore smokers (9.7% among males and 6% among females), which translates into 33.1% of all smokers in Italy.

In Washington state, the leading edge for Covid-19, more women are dying than men. Maybe it is because women usually live longer than men so that old women are dying.
