What are families doing and what are plans during this odd time.
I am in house and keeping busy. Summer in the south.. already.
I am a pandemic denier.
Working at home online. Listening to audio books and talk radio.
we like each other too! Thank God! We are going to be OK - as long as we don’t snack ourselves into starvation in 10 days.
Praying for a HOT May - I know we’ve had 105 degrees early in May about 20 years ago. Maybe that’ll kill this thing. Had a cold front blow thru - 70’s at midnight, windchill is low 40’s now. Go figure!
Today I replaced all my old gutters. As you can tell, Id didnt plan ahead as much as I should have.
Life goes on. Don’t know about tomorrow - but then again, we never did. Life needs more guarantees!
Lol
I’m in a small town of 2,700 in western Colorado, took a walk earlier this afternoon. Nice day, about 55 degrees. A little bistro was open, doing takeout perhaps. Laundromat was open. A group of five young adults and teens were shooting baskets in the park. A few kids were riding skateboards there. A family was pushing the swings for their very young three children. Saw a few people walking their dogs. Auto traffic seems normal. The number of cars at the grocery was normal. Same at the pot shop.
If you weren’t aware of CV, you wouldn’t know from that walk that anything was going on.
Everything is the same, except for those pesky folks closing their business and all. This great fear-in is just so ho-hum, like all those that went before it.
Nice, on the Unimog. There were a bunch of folks on an FAL forum I was on 20 years ago, that were trying to put together a group buy on Pinzgauers. I couldn’t justify it. :-(
I have been trying to set up my employees to be able to work at home with no one at the office. It is not an easy transition. Developing new procedures, enforcing strict control over documents and internet use, working with face to face client interactions. Very stressed.
I been thinking....I know that means trouble ahead, but curious if say two weeks from now me, or someone really interested would check the trash bins in the neighborhood to see just how much bread, and other perishables are in there all moldy, and cruddy, because people are buying way more than they truly need per week screwing the rest of us out of what little we need.
What pandemic?
I was talking to an elderly man that I know in the store the other day. I asked where he was headed after this and he said he was on his way to pick up some Jack Daniels for a hot toddy. I said you look well and he said it was medicinal and Jack Daniels always heads off any cold or flu. Lol
as am I...
Like I always have. Prepare for the worse, pray for the best.
Learning to code.
I’m trying to get used to not working. It’s really strange being home every day.
My son is a doctor in a New York hospital (Long Island). That’s probably my biggest concern during all of this. However, he is of the opinion that the precautions they are taking while working with these patients are effective. He’s a first year resident and he’s pretty sure he’s going to start having to take on patients with the virus. Kind hard for a mom to not worry. But, I’m so proud of him!
Loading ammo.
Yup. Same here, preps still good from winter, topping a few items off that are all still available. Am enjoying a beautiful Spring day watching the lake melt. I don't think the summer people are going to make it out here this year, which is not breaking my heart at all. I don't think I could self-quarantine any better without space travel. Got books, got the Internet, got beer. Life is good.
