Notices posted at Costco this week indicate the store is no longer accepting returns on key items that many are stocking up on the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
The signs, posted by several Costco Instagram accounts (not affiliated with the store itself), indicate that returns are not being accepted on toilet paper, paper towels, rice, water, sanitizing wipes, and Lysol.
It's not clear if the new policy is store-by-store or part of a national corporate push. Costco announced limits earlier this week on certain items that have seen a spike in purchases as customers stock up. This could be part of that policy, but we've reached out to Costco for more information. For the time being, it's best to refer to your local Costco for more information on its policies.

Seems some credit card statements may have arrived in the mail.
Can’t imagine any store accepting returns on food. That’s dangerous in safer times.
Tell them to give the tp to their neighbors.
Good let them live with horded goods and have to pay off their credit cards. Live long and prosper with all that toilet paper.
Tp doesn’t have an expiration date. It’ll be useful for years. Also, cheaper to than 3 years from now.
At the Costco I go to, in Albany, OR, workers told us that their entire stock of rice was cleaned out two weeks ago by a single buyer.
Weird.
Scottissue helps you get in touch with yourself.
Except the customer is always right.
Anyway these goods are non-perishable, why not accept returns?
Some stuff legally not allowed (e.g., swimsuits, undergarments) and other shouldn’t be (e.g., takeout food and perishable food, at least).
Someone who’s spouse bought 5x what they need of either?
Good for Costco.

Guess their credit card bill arrived and they were like, “Oh, [heck].”
Makes sense

Its about time. Ive seen people come out with three or four big bundles of toilet paper; enough for a year or more for most families. Also, being a senior citizen with bad wheels, I would like to see Costco make the first hour open once or twice per week for we oldies and gimp alongs....
Good.
Depends on the flavor.
What I’m thinking....both will keep if stored correctly.
“Wait. People be fighting in the aisles for tp and now want to return it?”
They could sell it of their trunk & make a killing (TP that is)
The only reason I can think of for returning toilet paper (unused, of course), is because you underwent an emergency colostomy and you never have visitors that might use it occasionally.
