Workers are bugging out in certain industries with the intentio of applying for those checks. Thousands of workers who are fine are going to bug out from work. The offer of checks will hasten the economic collapse. Hello? Wake up.
What is bugging out from a job?
Voluntary quits don’t get state unemployment, right?
I’ll take the check and get that tattoo.
$1,000 is not going to go far when you have no job.
For a measly $1k? That’s going to everyone (up to income limits)?
More of the doom and gloomers. It just never ends.
My guess is that state unemployment will be beefed up bigtime.
Dumb blog.....
Well, considering you can still have a job and yet get a check, that would be pretty stupid.
and the checks ain’t that large to begin with...
Are taxes going to have to paid on this *income*?
If doctors treating Chinese Coronavirus patients offer the use of hydroxychloroquine as a treatment for the virus, the death rate for this virus will plunge even more than it is already plunging, IMHO.
You’re not thinking. Low end workers don’t think that far ahead. This is happening and I’m serious. You always find out I don’t lie.
1K might cover part of one mortgage payment. I would not quit my job for that.
$1000 won’t buy much today.
I don’t expect to collect it anyway. There will be some kind of means testing or income limit to collect.
They are not quitting. They’re just going home due to the Wuhan Flu crisis. They’ll have to take them back. Never mind. Sorry I said anything.
I don’t think these checks need to be applied for. They are coming whether you have a job or not. A least that’s my take. I have mixed feelings about it. The amount, given my situation, would help a little, but certainly no long term effect.
Is this really a trap? Well, we’re always trapped by greed. Dollars may make life go smooth for a while, but in the end it is this:
Remember that you are dust.
I’m not accusing you of lying. Just being mistaken re: many low-end workers.
What makes you so confident? Are you one? Or an employer of one? Dad of one?
Correcting tag line, hopefully.
If they have a home to go to (e.g., parents’ place) $1K isn’t going to make the difference.
