Michael Dell tells spring break video coronavirus skeptics not to apply to work for any of his companies

Dell founder and CEO Michael Dell said on Twitter that people who don’t take the coronavirus pandemic seriously shouldn’t apply to work for any of his companies. Dell was responding to a video on Twitter from CBS News, which showed a slew spring breakers who brushed off concerns of COVID-19 and traveled to Florida despite health officials urging people to stay home.

“Anyone in this video, please don’t apply to work @DellTech @VMware,” Dell tweeted Thursday. “And also please don’t apply to @Secureworks @DellFdn @boomi or MSD Capital.”

It’s either going to kill a lot more people than it already has or it isn’t. If it does, it will be remembered for the rest of our lifetimes and perhaps a bit more. If it doesn’t, if American medicine and know-how manage to stop its spread, it will be remembered as a great American victory against disease. And if it turns out that it was all a big nothing burger (which I very much doubt) it will be remembered for that.

Everyone now alive will remember this, just like everyone who was alive for the events remembers JFK’s assassination and 9/11. And this has directly impacted more people’s lives than both of those events put together.

I imagine my stock portfolio will still be hurting a year from now.
