A top official on the White House coronavirus task force issued an ominous warning on Wednesday, declaring that more millennials in Italy and France had gotten sick than anticipated becasue they failed to heed warnings about large gatherings after initials warnings thatn focused on the elderly.
“There are concerning reports coming out of France and Italy about some young people getting seriously ill, and very seriously ill, in the ICU,” Dr. Deborah Birx said at the White House daily briefing on the pandemic.
Part of the cause may be that health officials worldwide may have minimized the risk to young people compared to the elderly.

Sounds like a scare tactic to get the millennials to comply. Turns out they more fight in them then us “middle aged” folk.
In before they start the #OKBoomer hastag again and a Change.org petition to get them take it back and apologize?
The problem the Government has to deal with is this: They have lied to us about almost everything for so long, if they suddenly decided to tell the truth how would anyone know? Crying wolf is still a thing.
They know nothing until they they get a report on each case..
Most of what they report is false a week later
Boomers are older, which makes them more likely to be killed by it. But the Millenials are likely because they have that attitude: "We know more than you old people. We can do what we want and can gather in big crowds since we are going to live forether."
I guess not.

That’s what I thought too.
I have a different take on this from most here. If any group needs to be more scared it’s the millenials and their stupid #boomerremover hashtag. So many think this is a joke. They get a little cold, and pass it on to 100 other people, some of whom need an ICU.
Anyone breaking curfew or not social distancing properly should have to watch a video of someone dying from pneumomia.
I personally know multiple positive people, and am 7 days into a self quarantine because of contacts with them. This is very real to me - no patience at all for idiots getting people killed.

I check the stats a lot and am heartened by Washington State. They only have 2 new cases so it has slowed way down.

Have you met a millenial? Probably not. They're some of the most introverted folks around. They're not heeding warnings, because they don't have to; they're already sequestered in their childhood bedrooms.
Some are introverted, certainly not all.
A millennial sold me a new car in Feb...he sold 500 new Chevys last year.

Sorry you are so ill! Do not want people to mock those of us who take this seriously, it is uncalled for and rude. Wait until it cones to their friends and family. They will be singing a different tune.
That is not totally true. I know many millenials and there is not ONE “sequestered” in their parents’ homes. They are getting laid off and worried about paying for life. Do not know about the gathering part.
