Great post—I was impressed that they had no “wrong” answers on there.
So rare these days...
Summary Press conference
* Fast tracking drugs
* Industrial masks
* Wall Street Journal and Washington Post called out
* Trump astute on the issues
Pandemic
Now airing on ABC. 1:24PM
That is kinda funny...about not being able to control her.
Is this the Bill Gates produced video?
Or, something different?
Thx.
TX
Gov. Abbott issues executive order - 140+ cases. Multiplied by 300%
No more than 10 in a group.
Close bars and restaurants. Drive thru ok.
Don’t enter nursing homes.
Schools temp closed to Apr. 3. Online studies.
This is not a shelter in place. No limit on travel. Encourage work at home. Practice good hygiene. People must reduce public contact.
Campbells soup went first, here.
Those pics are like a dignified version of what we saw out of Wuhan.
So sad.
(Side Note: The Italian respirator masks aren’t masks....they’re helmets.)
My gosh.
I imagine schools across TX will stay closed throughout the rest of this school year.
Thanks for the TX updates.
I haven’t heard from sock.
Have you?
Hope all is well, with her.
sock...please check in, when you can.
Maybe she’s busy sewing masks. :D
Worst idea all day. Chuckles can take over. Keep Wills far away and safe. Keep Just Harry on his lonely little Canadian island with MEEEEEghan.
Water Collection and Treatment files are up. All pdf files. https://permasteader.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?fid=9
Unfortunately, you'll have to register to download the pdf files and I don't see any way to change that in the settings. I hate to use a third party to host the files. I need to change the software I use for the blog part of my site soon because the one I've been testing has development issues(one whiny lib dev who doesn't even want to be a dev), else I would upload there. I don't believe in spam or sharing info and all you need is an email address. Don't need to post or anything. I just tested it by registering with a different browser. Email address, user name, receive email activation link which happens quick, activate and was able to download pdf immediately.
Off to work on food info. Short term, long term storage, emergency cooking methods etc.
“He made the case that any protection is better than no protection (the perfect is the enemy of the good) because a lower viral load is better than a higher one, and a lower viral load gives your immune system a better chance to fight it.”
That has been our working theory, and it sounds like the ‘experts’ are starting to quit listening to the WHO and look at all of the evidence.
I think it’s very simple - we can fight off a relatively small amount of virons, but get a larger load over a short period of time, and the virons we take in replicate faster than our bodies can kill them...at that point we’re infected.
“My gosh...I imagine schools across TX will stay closed throughout the rest of this school year.”
You’re right, nothing is re-opening by April 3. They just don’t see a benefit to giving out a realistic date (like Aug. 2021), at this point.
They’ll later update, of course.
I think watching China gives us more information as they come out of quarantine.
A glance at the cereal shelves should be an eye opener for them.
We’re still hoping it’s kind of calmed down enough for us to do a decent pickup order towards the end of the month. Not a replacement run to be sure but anything is better than nothing.
I might just put $200 worth of food, no goat cheese or milk, no soy milk or cheese, no vegan ‘meat’. LOL.
About time Abbott stated taking it seriously. Glad he finally has.
Watching Switzerland, they have the 2nd highest level of infection of any country, after Italy, but they seem to be dealing with it much better. Unfortunately, there isn’t much coverage of exactly how things are going, probably because everyone is focused on their neighbor Italy.
This link gives a general overview of what they are doing to contain COVID-19:
