A 4-year-old British girl suffering from coronavirus-like symptoms grew worse after taking ibuprofen, her family said.

As health experts hotly debate whether the anti-inflammatory medicine should be taken to combat the contagion, Dan Collins of Bristol posted a dire warning on Facebook about his stepdaughter Amelia.

“To those of you that have children please read. If your child has symptoms of corona virus, DO NOT give them ibuprofen,” Collins wrote.

Almost as if the virus was made to counteract medication...

I’ve read/heard that Ibuprofen, with this, is a big no no...for everyone.

Use Tylenol / acetaminophen to reduce temperature, not an NSAID like ibuprofen or naproxen. This had been known for a while regarding WuFlu.

It's not that it's counteracting medication.

It's that NSAD's like ibuprofen reduce fever and inflamation.

THey are part of the body's natural immune system army/ammo. When you take those things you are interfering with the body's ability to fight. That's great if it's just a cold or mild fever making you feel like crap, but it may be in this case that people just need to hunker down and feel like shiite and not interfere with the body doing its job.

SOMETIMES the body does it's job too well as when inflammation, say, on a knee injury, gets in the way of the healing process. Then, great to tamp it down with anti-inflammatories. Or maybe OK to do it with strep throat to keep the fever down a touch.

But it's beginning to look like unless the covid fever is dangerous, people should just stick it out and suffer.

Yep. And I’m on a daily dose of Mobic for back pain. Don’t know about that stuff.

My admonishment regarding the virus is that the odds on probability is that his one was engineered. That means there are a lot of adverse effects we do not currently understand, whether during during the infection stage or after the patient presumably ‘recovers.’’ The bottom line is avoid catching this sucker until, hopefully, a vaccine comes on line.

If you have this ‘new’ virus and aren’t a little kid, elderly or have a compromised immune system, Dr. Diana advises:

Good Old Aspirin in dosages found on the label. Fluids of any kind (water, cranberry or orange juice, lemonade, etc.) and a shot of Blackberry Brandy before bed, or before an afternoon nap.

America has lost it’s collective mind!

That’s right.

I wonder how many of our over the counter medicine comes from China.

Take vitamin D3 at the first sign of "flu" ->900 iu per pound of body weight. That is 36 itty bitty 5000 iu gelcaps. Take them as one "serving." Maintain with one 5000 a day "serving." I have had no colds or flu in 14 years with that formula. In the summer substitute daily sunshine for the daily "servings." It may possibly not be useful against this virus but you can't lose by trying it.

No - according to this report, just non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like Ibuprofen and aspirin. If you have the virus and want some relief for a headache or fever, use acetaminophen (Tylenol).
