This afternoon, President Trump and the White House Coronavirus Task Force issued new guidelines to help protect Americans during the global Coronavirus outbreak.
The new recommendations are simple to follow but will have a resounding impact on public health. While the President leads a nationwide response, bringing together government resources and private-sector ingenuity, every American can help slow the virus’ spread and keep our most high-risk populations safe:
Today’s guidelines build on the CDC’s general recommendations to help prevent spread of the virus. Americans should continue practicing strict personal hygiene, including washing hands regularly for at least 20 seconds at a time and wiping down surfaces in the home often.
Even if you are young and otherwise healthy, you are at risk—and your activities can increase the risk of contracting the Coronavirus for others. Everyone can do their part.
There’s no better way to protect your family and your community than by arming yourself with accurate, up-to-date information.
President Trump declared a National Emergency in response to the Coronavirus on Friday, freeing up more than $42 billion in resources for states and localities.
The emergency declaration will give healthcare providers on the front lines of this pandemic the flexibility they need to respond. President Trump continues to cut through every piece of unnecessary Washington red tape that may hinder response efforts, and he is continuing to make every Federal resource available to those who need it.
“I know I speak on behalf of the President and our entire team when I say how grateful we are for governors all across the country and the seamless partnership that we have forged with them and with state health officials,” Vice President Mike Pence said yesterday.
“We also want to express great appreciation to the American people. Not surprisingly, it is inspiring to see the way tens of millions of Americans are responding with compassion [and] with common sense.”

Ha. Just carry on where you are with what you do as best you can, and know you have friends and neighbors who have your back. Use the conditions of this situation to think about the multitude of blessings you’ve received in life, and to consider what has been taken for granted.
At bottom, however, the panic you perceive is not as deep or widespread as your mind and the media would make it. Do you realize how many people in this country, young and old, have read about the Black Plague? From it they know what we are witnessing today is a similar part of the tapestry we call history. It’s okay.
We have a small percentage of population that goes bonkers over recent news. No need to be the same, because they do not deserve to be recognized, let alone emulated.

Yep, they’ve been banging the drum on the economy since Trump was nominated. It was a multi pronged attack.
Part of the reason of higher mortality rates for the elderly and diabetics is that the virus tends to attack higher blood sugar levels. The elderly tend to have slightly elevated blood sugar levels as do diabetic 2 patients.

A welcome byproduct of sheltering is likely to be lowered incidences of violent crime, as roving young democrats find fewer targets of opportunity late at night. Of course, they might take up home invasion. If they do, here’s hoping they are quickly cured of their ability to catch any virus, permanently.
I agree! I hope people will get to see just how frantic and busy busy their lives are with a lot of meaningless activity and as you said will develop closer relationships with their family. Of course we were homeschoolers so I probably see things differently. I don’t know how to express what Im thinking, but just hoping and praying that some families eyes might be opened to a possible different lifestyle after going through all of this. Maybe a small silver lining amongst all the anxiety and hardship ( sickness or economic) that may be coming.
Well, this old gal had her last outing for a while. We went bowling for our grandson’s 7th birthday. Now I’m content to be a hermit for a while, except for retired husband syndrome. ;-)

Very tired of the FR doom and gloomers on one side and the cynical “this is all a hoax and Trump is being played by the deep state” people on the other side of the FR battlefield. The social-distancing approach has merit, for a brief window only. Getting it under control, and doing so quickly, will pay BIG dividends.
Personally, I beieve this virus has been weaponized by Xi, if not initially, now with his blame game. Hunker down and be vigilant; If we’re being played we’ll know it soon enough...
I know Trump isn’t playing us.
