The Colvins started to receive death threats The Tennessee attorney general sent the brothers a letter threatening legal action
Two Tennessee brothers who bought 17,700 bottles of hand sanitizer and sold some of them for as much as $70 each to profit off the coronavirus outbreak say they have received death threats after being shamed on social media.
Matt and Noah Colvin of Hixson, Tenneseee, drove 1,300 miles across the state and neighboring Kentucky earlier this month after the first coronavirus death was reported in the United States.
Seeing a lucrative business opportunity, they filled a U-Haul truck with thousands of bottles of hand sanitizer and thousands of packs of antibacterial wipes that they ‘cleaned out’ from various Dollar Tree, Walmart, Staples and Home Depot locations.
In total, they spent between $10,000 and $15,000 stocking up on the items which are now in demand thanks to the global pandemic that has killed thousands and will likely infect many more.
'The bulk of it was purchased just driving around to retail stores in the Chattanooga area,' Matt Colvin told WRCB-TV.

I figure a lot of people buying stores out like that were going to try to pull something like this.
Some were hoarding it but others were going for resale. Well dude you just got burned.
BTW price-gouging is illegal and they can be sued by each state’s AG.
My suggestion to these boys is to open up a stand near a wal mart and sell them out of a booth for a fair price. They can make back their money for a small profit if they try. They better hurry though before the stores restock.
Even if the brothers are forced to sell the hand sanitizer at or near cost, would you trust them at this point?
I have 4 or 5 bottles of the squirt bottles which are probably two or more years old. Also two of the refill bottles which are probably enough to refill around 3 each.
I doubt I will ever use them all. I got them some time ago out of a box of clearance items at my drug store.
I suspect these are easy enough to manufacture that the supply will catch up very soon.

Like the Communist indoctrination centers, hand sanitizers are not a necessity to get through life, soap and water works just as well to repel the leftist renamed flu.

People are stupid and gullible. You don’t need hand sanitizer. All you need to do is wash your hands with soap and water regularly. That’s what the experts have said. And diarrhea isn’t even one of the symptoms, so I don’t know why they’re hoarding it.
Perhaps they need to drop off an item at neighborhood doors instead of at hospitals. It was individual consumers that they purchased ahead of.
But people can’t always wash their hands if they are out somewhere. People still need to do things. I always keep a bottle in my car.
Anyone stupid enough to pay $70 for a bottle of hand sanitizer kind of deserves to be out the money.
