Just wondering if there are any Hams out there and what are you listening to?
Good luck to everyone. 73.

Yes and nothing.
My antenna is down too. Haven’t powered up my rig in years.
Where would I go band or frequency wise to find others on alert for the end of the world ?!
Most of the meat aisles are cleaned out but some stores still have some hams put back for the regulars.
Not a ham, but curious if any have set up an ad hoc net re: the virus to keep info flowing.
N6TDG here....hand out on the Winsystem via allstar node..or HF bands with old Icom 751 and a DX Commander Antenna, (multiband vertical) Talked to someone up in Idaho yesterday...but they were just running a CQ...
Not yet. Just started studying for my technicians license. Probably going to start off simple with a handheld unit.
I thought there was a run on hams now as well as toilet paper.
I am. Cell phone pretty much made it obsolete for me. I do listen on EchoLink now and then.
Oddly, my twenty-year-old daughter got the bug and got her ticket a year or so ago.
Licensed, but haven’t really used it. Another hobby I don’t have time to get sucked into. Mostly a “back pocket” kinda tool available for when things really go pear-shaped.
I used to listen to some of the 40m nets every morning years ago. There was an RV one during the summer which was fun—you could hear about stuff all over the country—although I could only hear half of most on my little wire antenna.
I do a lot work with the local Emergency Nets, but they are almost all 2M, so you are battling the Walking Dead fans. Most of the time its un-listenable.
There were a couple of mid week “Good Ole Boy” nets from the south I would listen to—but my accent would “prevent” me from getting too far there! Ha Ha.
I’m not a ham but I used to listen to some folks on 3865 kilohertz, upper side band, on my Sony SW7600GR several years ago.
Have any of you HAMS used Winlink? I got the eq and set it up but it's not really practical when things are running well.
I know what you mean.
I have a bunch of the little Boefongs in their box that I charge up every month. I bought them for my daughter and her husband that live two towns over.
If things got THAT bad, I don’t think the FCC is going to come looking for a 5 watt piece of crap.
Some one used to keep a ham ping list. Can’t remember who. Maybe search will find it.
