The vast majority of “flu deaths” are actually pneumonia deaths. Anyone over 70 or 80 who is hospitalized has a significant chance of developing pneumonia, and it’s quite possible, or even likely, that many cases of “Hospital Acquired Pneumonia” are blamed on the flu, and cause of death listed as “Influenza Related Pneumonia”. It covers up a significant source of hospital CAUSED deaths and probably avoids significant liability.
IIRC the Obama admin ordered a stop to Swine flu tests in 2009 and then declared all possible deaths to be due to it—with none of it proven.

Reasonable people will give him the benefit of the doubt, given what WHO has done, Italy China, many other nations, many Governors in this country... I thought he was not handling it well at first, mostly just his off-the-cuff remarks, but I give him credit now.
I doubt we will have church on Sunday in Toledo, Ohio.
And we are probably much better off because of it.

Looks to me like Milan / Lombardy became the Euro epicenter because of their large number of Chinese who had travelled home. Plus self-serving propaganda like this.
You could probably cut that rate in half if you consider all the undiagnosed people who must be out there, who thought they had a cold or a flu or an allergy attack, rode it out at home, and got better.
But still, a 3.5% death rate is way more than America’s Flu Bro (Rush) would like to believe. Also way more than the Swine Flu in America (about 0.3 percent, IIRC).

At least some of these flu deaths are from complications, IMO. A bacterial pneumonia that takes advantage of the flu, for example.
Restaurants should be able to make their own decisions on opening and closing.
