This post is a heads up. There are investments called ETNs (exchange traded notes) which are sort of like mutual funds, but are listed like stocks. UBS has listed many of these. Well, down in the details of the prospectus that no one reads is a clause that if the value of the security goes below $5, they get liquidated. Due to the stock market correction, there are several close to being liquidated, and UBS has announced one issue, MLPQ, is being liquidated. I wrote this because if people are searching around for good deals, these look great. They aren't. Any investor now will probably lose a substantial amount of money. Shorting them might be an option, but I am not going to recommend anything.
First stock to zero.
Over on ZeroHedge they were saying, the reason ALL asset classes are getting hammered at the same time, is that some large party (I’d say, several) are getting HUGE margin calls and have to liquidate at any price.
The selling, then drives down the value of collateral which other parties hold, so THEY have to sell, and so on.
“The second thing we do, let’s kill all the bankers and MBAs.”
Once the dow reaches 18 i’m all in.
not 18,000.
Just 18.
i’ll make a killing
Unless someone drives it down to 4.
I wonder what the P/E is for the dow and nasdaw and s/p compared to the past.
Too lazy to go look.
Hey, 1,000 point swing in the past hour from 500 down to 500 up on the dow
I wonder what news cam out this late.
Well, there are those 3x ETFs.
I wonder how they are doing...
I think at this point all an up day on Friday will do is guarantee the big drop will be on Monday. There’s no chance the weekend will not be filled with bad economic news.
If the E is below zer0, what does the P look like?

Charmin futures!
lol
BAD!!
When I see an N/A next to P/E ratio on a stock, it better have incredible growth projections.
Cause it ain’t making a dime!!
And even then, many marijuana stocks are jumping in revenue but still losing money.
I’m putting all of my money into pork bellies.
The bellies are very large so lots of money fits in them
I had to steal that one, but I shan’t apologize.
It wasn’t mine.
Go ahead, become a superspreader.
“what does the P look like?”
It’s kinda pale yellow, like diet Mountain Dew..
Now that there are negative interest rates in some places, can negative stock prices be far behind?
That way some stocks could have a positive P/E ratio even if their earnings are negative.
Interesting times...
Now that made me LOLOL!
lol
That one hurt my head :)
I think the NY Fed is pumping 1.5 trillion dollars into the bond market.
That should help things :)
That’s why you read a prospectus.
LOL, that’s a good one.
