Princess Cruises canceled all its voyages for the next two months and will cut short some current trips, after two of its ships suffered coronavirus outbreaks.
It is the first ocean carrier to suspend sailings as a result of coronavirus. The suspension applies to voyages departing March 12 to May 10, Princess said Thursday.
The cruise line is owned by Carnival Corp. Current trips with less than five days remaining will continue, but those extending beyond March 17 will be cut short.

Lots of Cancellations of many events now happening across this country now.
I am sure Freepers like myself who go on yearly cruises will be affected in the future.
Hopefully not infected in the future. -Tom
Come on NCL..cancel my May cruise...good for me..but not the industry
They all will. Reminds me of snow days, once one school announces a closing they all do.
Why would they do this for the flu?

Amazing how folks know what’s coming, yet ignore it.....just saying....
Yep, Viking just canceled river & ocean cruises thru May 1st. My cruise is set for June 1st.

You want to go on a cruise and get the flu?
A problem all cruise ships have is the crews rotate from all countries around the world and some countries do not handle screening of those working people for corona virus as well as others do.
So the virus could be transmitted to healthy passengers from a crewmember. -Tom
They can go fluck themselves. They have their flags in foreign ports to have less regs and cheap labor. Bahamas and Panama can bail them out.
In a year where the seasonal flu had an r0 over 2 and a mortality rate of 2%, they’d do the same thing for flu.
Carnival stock is on my potential buy list.
I’m thinking more Royal Caribbean.
Why would you go on a cruise so you could get the flu?
I hope you have a good trip.
My situation now requires I do not fly with my wife so I have to do a cruise trip from a nearby local port, and Viking is not here - yet. -Tom
Carnival will cancel too I suspect. Carnival sails weekly 89 thousand across the fleet.
