With all due respect, my FRiend....if I offer to shake a colleague's hand I'm looked at strangely and offered a fist or elbow...hand sanitizer for sale is as rare as is a NJ concealed carry permit...I saw a couple walking down the street tonight wearing masks...I am getting unsolicited email from various entities, e.g. Public transit firms, warning me about Coronavirus...literally every conversation I have with family or friends has SOME coronavirus dimension to it...my nieces and nephews aren't going back to college after spring break - they're all going to virtual college instead...

The issue isn't whether or not the Average American is taking it seriously - that IS happening.

The issue is whether or not the Average American is getting sick of the Greta Thunberg-like scolding we get if we even SUGGEST that maybe this is something to monitor for sure, but it's not TEOTWAWKI.

I personally believe the NBA had a duty to its players to shut down games....basketball is a contact sport and who knows how many players have been infected. It's not like they're playing chess.

But while I am (believe it or not) supportive of the NBA's decision, I can see LOTS of fans being peeved and becoming LESS inclined to wash hands etc. I also suspect the NHL will have a little swagger and keep playing.
