Public officials banned large gatherings in San Francisco and the Seattle area to try to contain the rapidly spreading coronavirus outbreak that’s infected more than 121,000 people across the world since December.
Washington Gov. Jay Inslee is banning large gatherings in several counties across the state to try to contain the COVID-19 outbreak that that has killed at least 23 residents, he announced Wednesday.
Moments after Inslee announced the order, San Francisco health officials announced that they are also banning gatherings of 1,000 or more to slow the spread of the new coronavirus.
“I am ordering ... that certain events in King, Snohomish and Pierce County with more than 250 people are prohibited by order of the governor,” Inslee said at a press conference.

Banning ‘large gatherings’ is rather asinine.
Is 2 too many? Is 200 okay? What about 1500? Or 50,000+?
Are outdoor stadium attendance allowable? What about closed venues such as school gymnasiums?
How many can be inside a convenience store at any given time? 2? 5? 15? What about grocery stores? Or ‘big box’ stores?
On and on and on and on...
Why don’t they clean up the sh*t on the streets first.
Did they cancel the Poo Festival?
But schools are still open.
