Retired New England Patriots star Rob Gronkowski is ready to re-enter the workforce, only instead of an NFL comeback, the three-time Super Bowl champion is eyeing the world of professional wrestling.
According to Fox Sports report, Gronkowski is 'deep in talks' with World Wrestling Entertainment (formerly the World Wrestling Federation), but his exact role with the WWE remains unclear. TMZ is reporting that Gronkowski will be doing cameos and part-time work, rather than becoming a full-time wrestler.
The 30-year-old Gronkowski is no stranger to the ring. He found his way into a Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33 alongside his friend, wrestler Mojo Rawley, in 2017.

That crazy Gronk. What a character...
I guess the Tide commercials finally ran out..................
Gimme a break! Loved the guy while he was with the Pats...but he’ll be on my ‘pay no mind” list if he goes to that sham “sport”.
The Tide Pod Terrorist?
So he took up boxing, was good enough to go to the Olympics in London, only to get his ass whooped by some dude from Russia.
Supposedly since day one Gronk chose to bank his entire NFL salary and just live on endorsements. So he has all of his NFL money still, a considerable nest egg. He’s doing okay. When he announced he was retiring the reporters were talking about how much Gronk loves wrestling and might pursue that. Apparantly he’s been talking about if for a long time.
I’ve always liked Gronk, even though he played for the Patriots.......
He’d have to be pretty stoned to think this is a good idea. So this will probably happen.
But now that he's retired and I have gotten to see him without a helmet on, seems like fun friendly guy. I never bought the narrative that he was a dumb caveman though. When I heard he was banking all his NFL earnings I said "smarter than the average NFL player"
I didn’t realize “professional wrestling” was still a thing. I assumed it had faded away years ago.
Hey, this might be a viable career option for Colin Kaepernick. He’d make a great heel.
Was never under the assumption that professional wrestling was anything other than entertainment. Needless to say, some people take too much of it to heart.
It's a stepping stone to an acting career....so they think. But I think The Rock is the only one who's had success.
Notre Dame Star fullback Joe Savoldi did this back in the 1930s. There wasnt much money to be made in the NFL in those days so he made the switch. During WWII he went behind enemy lines for the OSS in Italy.
This is a way to capitalize on his career like all the color guys for the broadcast of an NFL game do.
This isn’t an athletic contest just like those color guys aren’t competing on the football field.
I hate the Patriots but the guy was great. This sounds like way less prep or stress than an announcer job. And way more fun. Typical Gronk
Me, neither...................
“I guess the Tide commercials finally ran out...”
Gronk still hasn’t spent a dime of his signing bonus or NFL pay.
He learned being thrifty wearing hand me downs from his older brothers and has never forgotten the lesson.
In his words he “lives broke”.

Yep, and he’s single!.................
