I just can’t understand the complete acceptance of basically throwing away the over 65’s.
‘it only affects the old’ so stopping its spread is too much trouble. How dare you inconvenience ME for this virus, I’M not old! kind of attitude.
Because the old aren’t people too. Or something.
Secular humanism has really done a number on our morals and ethics.
Makes me wonder if they’re hugely in debt and jonesing for an early inheritance.

I’m still not sure what to make of all this.
On FR, I seen the gamut of “It’s just the flu” all the way up to “We’re really screwed”.
I’ve heard every possible idea of how to treat it from strong whiskey all the way up to massive doses of Vitamin C, D and even zinc.
I’ve heard every possible thing about containing or mitigating the virus from “It’s gonna happen - we can’t do anything about it” all the way up to FULL QUARANTINE - CLOSE THE BORDERS.
I’ve heard everything from “Anyone under 40 should be fine” to “Yeah, everyone is so screwed”.
I’ve heard everything from “Aw, we’ll get one bad round of it and then we’re done” all the way up to “This is gonna last months and months”
I’ve heard everything from “Trump’s doing what he can regarding this” all the way up to “This is gonna cost him his re-election”.
I’ve tried to sort thru it and make reasonable precautions at home. Stocked up on some extra food. No, not two months worth. More like several weeks worth. Bought some Clorox. Am trying to avoid crowds and maintain six feet distance from others. Am trying not to touch my face. Am trying to wash my hands more than usual.
Just having way too many problems trying to take in and synthesize all the info I see on here.
Thank you for your reply. I’m feeling fine and not panicing. Allergy season is coming up and every time I sneeze, I remind myself just to remember I have had allergies for years since I moved to Texas.
Italy needs to test everyone, quarantine neighborhood by neighborhood, with police and troops everywhere to guarantee enforcement (as well as deliver food and supplies).
It will need to be treated like a war zone to contain the virus at this point.

Do not hold your breath LOL because almost all older people in Italy are red blooded Italians of Roman extraction. That mis-conception comes from large number of Chinese workers currently present in Italy.
What I want to hear from the doomsday posters about covid-19 is what solutions they have in mind to get rid of the pandemic. PDJT was brave enough to quickly stop travel from China to US, which none of the recent presidents would have done. And his team is working tirelessly on initiatives to curb spread of the virus.
SO, those who are not happy with what is being done by Trump admin, please feel post to spell out your specific and PRACTICAL steps which will defeat the virus quickly.
