Time to stay calm and continue on....
Yesterday's thread is here:

I notice today the Flu people (brother and friends) have change to it is a Virus and media is hyping it up the outbreak to the destroy the economy to keep President Trump from being re-elected. If the Media keeps it up we will have a great depression.
I guess this is the angry stage.
Thanks, much.

....shows age, but hasn’t been updated since 2/29/20.
A lot has happened, in almost 2 weeks :- /
Spray it with disinfectant and let it permeate 3 days. Turn the heater on a bit higher than you normally would for a couple days. You don’t want to burn it down. Put in a carbon monoxide alarm for safety reasons. Let it air out for a day. Give it a good cleaning. Let is air out again a week or until hubby has to have it. YMMV.
FNC reporting National Guard just showed up in New Rochelle, NY.
Saying it is “hyped” sounds like denial to me...
Any attempts to blame this on the media is a form of denial—a case of blaming the messenger for delivering the bad news...
What is happening in Italy is getting rather obvious...and all the deniers have left is to try to argue that Italy is inferior to the US in some way.
I am convinced the opposite is the truth—northern Italy had an excellent health care system, healthy people—and the virus just blew them away...no contest...
All regular season games for all sports on SEC campuses, as well as championships, suspended until March 30.
Not long before MLB also bows out.
My wife works at a nursing home and it’s got me worried. They had a meeting about covid19 a few days ago and parroted the “masks won’t help” line. She said this morning that they aren’t allowing non-medical visits and anyone who does go there needs to go through the front door and will have their temperature checked. Helps a little I guess. My wife’s been to the hospital twice in the past year for breathing issues. She has inhalers and a nebulizer prescribed. Been an issue all her life. If she gets this, she’s probably a goner. We do live in the boonies at least. If things get too close, I’ll tell her to quit. If she refuses, I’ll disable the vehicle.
Thanks for the New Rochelle update—we should stay on top of that one—if you see any pictures of the National Guard on duty there let us know.
Also, notice it took a couple of days to do this mobilization.
Everything takes so long these days. That is why I want the National Guard to be called up in each state and trained and practicing on this crisis...now....
My wife works at CVS. She is definitely going to be infected, as will I.
We are just hoping we have good enough immune systems to handle it...

Agree with the breathing it is a higher risk. Still, handwashing is good.
” into account efforts to slow the spread. “
Good point, I didn’t think those efforts would do much but I’ve been encouraged lately.
In the beginning, China was supposedly spraying bleach.
China
Have seen elsewhere it was government ran healthcare for all and horrible. Which is it?

John:
Northern Italy is industrialized and very modern.
Southern Italy is closer to third world.
This is why the coverage has been confusing imho.
Do a search on Milan (northern Italy) pre corona virus and you will get the idea.
What was in Milan that wasn’t in the rest of the country?
Chinese workers who work in the textile industry there.
“Breathing is a more effective method of transmission, absolutely no doubt about that...Touching is a less effective method, but since we touch so many surfaces that increases the likelihood of getting it from surfaces.”
I agree...it just seemed like everyone thought they had it figured out, when it was pretty obvious that they were missing the elephant in the living room.
By the way, my Asian sources tell me that the air is much, much, cleaner there. Finally!
Thank you!! Appreciate the effort in finding and posting this info.
Interesting how median age, in Italy, is 65 yo.
