McDonald’s to release smaller and bigger Big Macs

Whether you’re just a little hungry or starving, McDonald’s will soon offer a Big Mac to match.

The fast-food chain will release two new versions of the iconic burger Wednesday: the Little Mac and the Double Big Mac.

The Little Mac has just one beef patty, while the Double Big Mac has four. They’ll both still be topped with cheese, lettuce, pickles, onions and Special Sauce.

The Double Big Mac comes in at 720 calories; the Little Mac is 320 calories — the same as a medium fry.

Though the burgers’ prices will vary regionally, McDonald’s is recommending a price of $2.29 for the Little Mac and $5.49 for the Double Big Mac, McDonald’s spokeswoman Morgan O’Marra said.

Both burgers will be available for a limited time at select locations. McDonald’s did not say whether the new burgers would eventually be phased into the menu...

Yeh Red Robin and others touting ‘gourmet burgers’. puhleeze- just slight variations of the burger mostly with the toppings and condiments. Stay home and make a jazzed up burger at home for far less dime.

Yeah, here, too. It went over really well in the amount of time they test marketed it, and I guess that was pretty much the verdict everywhere. I will say that you’d better be packing an appetite if you get the Mega Mac, because the one they offered around here came on a really large bun, and there was plenty of ‘there’ in there. Trust me, skip the fries. *chuckle*

I stopped eating at mcdonalds a year ago because they have figured out how to make the smallest piece of meat that can be formed into a patty. The inflation lagging burger is only because it is mostly bread. The meat patty is barely larger than a silver dollar.

Thankfully there is serious competition in the burger biz.
Within miles of my home is McDonalds (2), Burger King, White Castle, Wendys, Culvers, Hardees, Arbys, Steak N Shake, Five Guys, and two non-franchise independents.

Last time they had a bigger big mac it was just more bread. They don’t seem to get it that people like meat.

Nabisco has Oreos with less sugar paste, but they thinned the cookie too, so you have more sugar and less cookie. They just don’t seem to get it.

I’m not catholic and don’t acknowledge Lent, since it’s not biblical, but I do like this time of year. Two Filet-O-Fish for $5.

For the record, last year, I stopped at Arby’s. I had not eaten there for many years. I ordered two of their vaunted fish sandwiches. They were so awful I actually threw one away.

If you have access, try Culvers.
You won’t be disappointed.

I don't think so. More like a Remoulade. But I haven't been in McDonalds for years.

Day off work tomorrow. Maybe I'll go there, get one and figure out how to reproduce it.

Reproducing recipes is a hobby of mine and I enjoy Mickie D's food. (figured out their tarter sauce years ago.)

My old boss knew ranchers and dairy farmers. He told me Carl’s Jr. buys the best quality meat for fast food joints. MC in the middle.

I like In N Out but I wish they would not fry the meat use a flame grill.
