These are just two of the heartbreaking questions Gabriel Fernandez asked his teacher in the months before he was beaten to death by his own mother and her partner.
The eight-year-old boy was brutally tortured over eight months by Pearl Fernandez and her boyfriend Isauro Aguirre - but despite making several brave pleas for help, he was left to die in the evil pair's home.
New Netflix series The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez has now shed light on the harrowing case, with the tragic youngster's family, teacher and witnesses opening up in court on the many times they called authorities to step in - but to no avail.
Gabriel was rushed to hospital with extensive injuries in May 2013 but tragically passed away two days later after being declared brain dead.
He had a major skull fracture, bruising and cuts all over his face, black eyes, BB gun wounds, ligature marks on his ankles, cigarette burns and cat litter in his stomach - after being forced to eat it. In what has been described by US media as an unprecedented move, the four social workers involved were charged with criminal negligence in the case.
The charges were later dropped however because prosecutors did not prove the social workers “had the requisite duty to control the abusers,” and concluded they “did not have care or custody of Gabriel".
All four of them have now reportedly been fired by the LA County Department of Children and Family Services.

I’ve dealt with them a few times as my step-daughter was coached by her father to make up accusations about my wife and me so that CPS would remove her and bring her to him. She was adopted out of foster care and began exhibiting mental disorders at age 8.
Although at that age the psychiatrist won’t give any specific diagnosis, she was taking medication for Bi-polar disorder / schizophrenia. I asked him if she fit in the Dark Triad category and he agreed she most likely would based upon his 6 years of seeing her.

There’s a certain danger on teaching this in a public setting in today’s world; but believe it or not it is still legal to spank your children in the United States. You are not forbidden by law to use corporal punishment on your child as long as the form of punishment is reasonable and does not cause injury.
Now, if you leave marks on the child you could be in trouble if the right people see it. So, I would suggest you spank with love and with a little wisdom. do not snatch your kid up by the scruff of the neck and haul him into the restaurant bathroom and spank them, or in the mall bathroom and spank them. You’re going to get in trouble, all right?
God has no problem with the death penalty, so why should I?
My son has already had two house visits from the cops and a secret hearing where they (temporarily) took custody from my son....because mom said dad wasn't enforcing HER dictated bedtime.
Bottom line, mom is trying to tire out dad to get him to agree to let the child move with her and her new live-in boyfriend (third one in 18 mos) out of state.
Worst part. If he had been a white middle-class child, he would still be alive today. The government has to watch those numbers.

My wife works for the police department and has to file these types of reports. The stats for that demographic are virtually non extistant.
tears flowing here. These evil thugs called his mother and her street hood may have gotten away with murder here but when they stand at God’s throne with that little angle at God’s feet, the gates of hell wide open and waiting.
Never will understand why somebody would voluntarily watch a documentary of such disgusting abuse.
I watched this Netflix series, excellent. But I must say, and I am not passing blame, but the principal of this school told the teacher to not get involved. She called children’s services multiple times. Gabriel was not in school for two weeks, when he returned his badly beaten body was healing but she could tell it had to have been horrific. Had I been her, I would have put him in my car, taken him to a hospital and if I lost my job. I would have sued the school district. Gabriel would be a live today. A terrible miscalculation to trust lazy, liberal social workers.
But as terrible as Gabriel’s life was, he was treated like a gem in comparison to six year old Isaiah Torres, in Arkansas. An absolute demonic story which is still unfolding in a mistrial. Another child who had a brutal life and brutal death, which children’s service did not do their job. I honestly could easily put a gun to these parents head and gleefully pull the trigger, I would feel blessed if I could do so,

Is it just me or has the depravity of these child-abuse cases gotten worse and worse over the years? I don’t remember reading stuff this bad in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s, for instance.
Second, if child protective services can’t do anything about cases this awful, what the hell are they there for?
Are you a taxpayer? Assuming you are, do you know how much of your money goes towards child protection agencies who refuse to do their jobs and turn away from these kids? If these kids can endure the brutal abuse, we as a society can certainly take the time to hear of how they have been failed
The social workers also harass the mothers, and many times it is racially motivated- black social worker white mother.
On top of that, here in Houston some CPS workers got busted in a human trafficking ring.
