Ancient human settlement was obliterated by a COMET that exploded in Earth's atmosphere and sent fragments of molten glass 'hot enough to melt cars' flying to the ground 12,800 years ago

Of course there is an unmentioned competing theory on explaining what caused the entire Younger Dryas Boundary (YDB) strewnfield. The idea is evident in this quotation and you can see a detailed explanation at the link below.

Similar to this area:

““Lightning in this region had to be imposing. A plasma intensifies in a shear zone, meaning it generates ion content due to the shearing and extreme temperature and pressure differentials. Shearing supersonic winds bounce shock waves between them, generating the highest current density in jet-streams that extended for thousands of miles. Lightning discharged from these plasma streams focused on the piling mountains below with the capacity of a thousand-mile-long thunderstorm being continually fed new energy.”

To be clear to some, NO cars were melted 12,800 years ago. Melting cars was an example of how hot it was. Regarding Carolina Bays, Firestone’s book shows how the long axis of a typical Bay aims toward Great Lakes. Also he proposes that Lake Michigan was hit by two large objects. I think a third smaller one hit between these two. See a map. The article proposes a number of air bursts, but I think there were those and ground hits. Possibly Greenland and perhaps in the Atlantic Ocean or Arctic and not yet discovered. Remember 19 hits on Jupiter a few years ago. Sodom and Gomorrah were probably much later. Either the object that hit the Iraq Marshes 2,000 BC or a smaller local hit or air burst.

Come on now...who believes that cars even existed 12,800 years ago? Obviously “fake news!” Just report that a very hot comet messed up the Syrian landscape.

Aren't you the party pooper? Sheesh. We were on a roll. I'll be you're loads of fun on the COVID-19 threads, too.

Thanks!

The big list, and a shorter list of more recent stuff, some overlap with the list in #22.

Yes - and due to some of the intermingling elements, they had a golden hue so the story became that the streets were paved with gold...

I could be fun on Covid-19, but at age 81, I am rather more serious. Note, 29 already dead in west coast nursing home(s), and Italy seems to have almost a 5% death rate.
