What is interesting is how many of the Ivies have already done so.
Perhaps they are relying on the advice of their own faculty who specialize in medical and public policy fields.
I have added several of them to my twitter feed. Quite frankly, they seem to me to be the best source of information and advice at the moment.
How Serious Is the Coronavirus?
I was just watching that last night. This is a must-see.
Yes, I noticed that. And good point on why that may be the case.
I was pretty dispirited that a college where I went put nothing out about students and COVID-19 over spring break. Nothing. No "here's some things to be aware of", no "here's some steps to reduce risk." Not one thing.
These are your "paying customers", so to speak!

I suspect that a lot of teachers weren’t too hot about having to deal with students from around the world either.
I was poking around looking for information on Cornell and found this update of schools in New York:
That Joe Rogan interview was excellent.
Acting like his defeat is already baked in, is another.
Thanks for this information!
Thank you for posting this!
Italy seems hard hit but Italians are very affectionate people. Lots of touching. Germans and Brits not so much. It could however hit the refugee populations hard.
I lobbied here at work for sending everyone home who can work from home. There are lots of us who do it already. By sending them home, you lessen the chances of infection going through the building/university. Although it doesn’t pertain to us so much, some people can’t work from home. Every body you take out of the building reduces the possibility of a major problem.
Just make switchel. Same electrolytes but home made and do much better tasting.
Spain reports 372 new cases of coronavirus and 11 new deaths, raising total to 2,067 cases and 47 dead
Iran reports 958 new cases of coronavirus and 63 new deaths, raising total to 9,000 cases and 354 dead
: Belgium reports 47 new cases of coronavirus as officials say hospital data suggests this could be “the start of a real epidemic”
How interesting!
Michael Osterholm stated Italy is seeing a lot of folks in their 40s. We need to stop thinking this an old person disease.
They think obese is a risk factor just like smoking. 40% of the USA is classified as Obese.
Michael Osterholm stated this is going to be with use for a while. It is not going to show and then leave. Could be around for awhile.
Michael Osterholm if you are older than 55 with underlining heath problems you do not want to be in the public spaces. I think that is 75% of people over 55.
Kids will be carriers without being sick they will bring it home from school. They do not know why.
Only thing we can do to slow this down is to limit contacts.
FWIW, this website says the advice has been debunked.
Thanks for the list
