Todays Cryptogram
H KZOR DRPRHORI BS TSDR FKZB SBR SD FAS QRFFRDU HB TM QHNR FKZF ARDR ASDFK FKR XSUFZJR. KRBDM IZOHI FKSDRZC
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram.
If you're just starting out on these, be patient, as you'll be proficient in no time.
If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hals Helper below:
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.

Todays Cryptogram is fairly easy. Many of you will recognize the author right out of the gate. And yes the first word is what you think it is, but dont be fooled on the second.
I think 3 minutes is good, and anything under 2 is simple maaaarvelous.

About 5 minutes...
1 minute. First word, most common letter, off to the races.
Not that guy again! Name is a giveaway.
Spoiler alert: author’s birth place
What was the result of yesterday’s poll?
Nice and simple!
One of my favorite authors! You’re right, that was a quickie.
FKZF and FKR gave a great start, and then it was post time.
Quick one guessed at the first letter, then looked at the author’s name, specifically the middle name.
Couple minutes, you were right about it being a quick one.
I was surprised that the vast majority are using Hal’s Helper. I think it works great esp if you’re still in bed. You can copy and paste to Hal, and go to it.
Second was pen and paper.
I find that HH keeps things neat and orderly. At best, my penmanship is atrocious and in the morning....fugetaboudit.
I guess the ‘check’s in the mail’ is not a good thing for the author
BUT
I thought H D Thoreau said it????
OOOPSSS....
Sorry about that...should be late enough not to matter...
When I ‘pasted’ it was cut off, leaving my LAST word Dav...
Again, Sorry...
