Video at link.

My notes from the video: Coronavirus: New data Introduces (Some Hope)/

SK new cases dropping, implies aggressive testing, contact tracking working.

Italy Healthcare overwhelmed.

Iran Atlantic article estimates 2 million cases.

Chart on Swine Flu Second wave in Oct worst than spring wave. Reduced but didn't go away over summer.

Good study out of University of Minnesota. "People shed high levels of coronavirus but most are not likely infectious after recovery begins" People emit high levels of virus early in their infection. Those that are mildly sick are likely not infections 10 days after START of symptoms.

Albert Bartlett on exponential growth

Ex-China Cases double every 4 days.

Hard to keep testing up with exponential growth

75-86% need to be immunized before virus stops spreading. Might be a couple of years.

Why protective measures matter. Graph shows how not to overwhelm medical system.

Italy People scattered from Lombard before lock down went into effect. Spread it everywhere. If population doesn't understand they must stay at home, situation will become catastrophic. Need 10x resuscitation locations Ambulances used to arrive in 8 minutes now an hour.

Need program to deliver groceries to elderly so they can stay home.

Slams WHO organization for comments.

Slams Mayor DeBlasio for spreading false info.

Soap is better than alcohol as it destroys the lipid layer more effectively.

Social distancing still best strategy.

Once everyone is wearing a mask, a little safer to go out.

Hong Kong protective measures has not only stopped Coronivirus but also Seasonal flu!!!

Public Officials still giving out inexcusably bad information.

Could be a year before achieving herd immunity

Both the CDC and WHO know what race, what age and what underlying medical conditions correlate with serious illness and death from this pathogen. Thus far they are not releasing the data. Strongly suspect it would be too politically incorrect and explosive if known. Hint: China would be very angry.

I’ve seen information published on age and medical conditions.

Not seen much on race. But would be skewed towards Asians because the first 80,000 cases are in China.

If you’re only testing sick people....people with colds or the flu....and exposed people...you’re creating sets of false stats.

No exponential growth. Bell curve. Epidemics rise and fall in a bell-shaped curve. AIDS, SARS, Ebola, seasonal flu. All the same.

They are the best stats we have.

We don’t ever test everybody. Not with the flu, not with anything.

But aggressive testing results in better stats.

While no testing results in no cases.

“People emit high levels of virus early in their infection.”

I think that might be the case with most viruses, the heaviest viral load is during the first days. At least I believe that’s what I’ve heard.

“Need program to deliver groceries to elderly so they can stay home.”

Quite a few stores offer this service - they shop and deliver your order for some extra bucks. More common in urban areas, but I believe Walmart Superstores offers this nationwide at their local stores.

Walmart here doesn’t offer delivery, but they will bring groceries out to your car.

Instacart works with many different grocery stores; the wiki indicates that it’s available in all 50 states and can serve 85% of households: I don’t know that they deliver everywhere, but they can get your order together for pickup:

Yeah, it depends on where you live if Walmart will do home delivery. I’m fortunate to have 5 or maybe 6 stores that will deliver nearby. I prefer a smaller chain or local store to something like Walmart.

They are good, I use them most often for home delivery.

If it’s only dangerous to Chinese, why is the death rate in

Italy so much higher?

I never knew about them until yesterday - some lost delivery man knocked on my door and asked if I’d placed an order.

We usually order direct from two of the local groceries, but Instacart offers many more choices of stores here, and I will try them.
