It seems to me this is purely a thunderbird issue and it just only recently started happening- When i go into thunderbird options/preferences or whatever, and try to change the default 'save to' for attachments, it doesn't even list my 'BackUp Drive' when i click 'browse', so it;s not even seeing the backup drive- (But note, linux sees it just fine)
This one has me stumped- the version of thunderbird is 68.4.1
I tried opening thunderbird i nsafe mode- still no love-

Quick question: Do your Linux file-manager programs see the second NT drive?

Put a dead black cat in a burlap sack and swing it in a circle 3 times over your head counterclockwise at midnight while facing the full moon.
If that doesn't take care of the problem call tech support.
Always worked for me.

Because, (re my post 2) if they don’t, the problem might be a corrupted fstab file (stands for file system table), not Thunderbird.

I don’t know the answer to your problem, but firejail might be causing it. Pretty sure it’s suppose to stop programs from making changes to your machine. You may want to remove it and see if that fixes the problem.
—Side note... even though you didn’t use the software manager to download it, I think you can remove it using it.

I have finally given up on Linux and gone back to W7. I have pulled down Ubuntu twice and mint twice. Both work fast and smoothly until one day I boot up to a screen full of code and no way to manipulate it. It just sits there showing multi lines of code. Reloading the OS loses everything I had saved.

When things on my comp stop working all of a sudden, I just reboot and everything seems to be working again. But I see someone might have help solve your problem. Good luck.

The more Thunderbird updates itself, the more it makes itself incompatible with various items, especially the older addons. I finally had to uninstall it, reinstall with my network cable unplugged, and then configure it so it wouldn't update anymore.
I don't know what the blue blazes their creators are doing, but I'm liking it less and less.
