Linux Help Thunderbird 'Save To' not seeing second ntsf HD Anymore
My computer | 03/09/20 | Me Wodnerful Wonderful Me

ok- I dual boot windows 7 and linux- which works great- my main os is linux for all internet stuff and emails etc- Has been going great for al ong time- but now all of a sudden my Thunderbird will not "Save To" my second hard-drive anymore- which is formatted to ntsf (so that i don't run into issues when booting to windows-)

So- for years I've been able to right click on an attachment in thunderbird, choose 'save to', select 'other locations' on the left which would bring up al the drives- and I'd choose my second HD, choose the folder i want, and save it fine without any issues- Now all of a sudden I can still see the 'BackupDrive' (Name of my second HD,) but when i click on it it's blank

I go out of the thunderbird app, and into my linux folders, see the HD, click on it, and it comes right up with everything in it- It's only in thunderbird that nothing comes up when trying to save to the backup drive- it's blank- I tried dragging attachments over to the drive manually- but got error message "The specified location is not supported'

When things on my comp stop working all of a sudden, I just reboot and everything seems to be working again. But I see someone might have help solve your problem. Good luck.

I don’t know anything about firejail. I use this firewall, http://gufw.org
More info here, https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Gufw

I have it set to Allow outgoing and Deny incoming with the profile of Home (as opposed to Office or Public)

i sue that firewall too- i was hoping though to use firejail as it’;s a sandbox which further protects the computer- linux is pretty safe, but could always be made safer- just wish firejail was easier to install and to use and set up whitelists and blacklists like other sandbox programs do

I can’t really understand how to create a blacklist/whitelist in firejail- don’t even know where to put the commands- too complicated for my limited knowledge of linux

? Several times- it was the firejail that was causing the issue-

The more Thunderbird updates itself, the more it makes itself incompatible with various items, especially the older addons. I finally had to uninstall it, reinstall with my network cable unplugged, and then configure it so it wouldn't update anymore.

I don't know what the blue blazes their creators are doing, but I'm liking it less and less.
