Dallas Cowboys representatives and the agent for quarterback Dak Prescott have reportedly spoken twice since the end of the 2019 season, per the Dallas Morning News. It could be a promising sign for negotiations, as the two sides hadn’t spoken since September.

The team offered Prescott, 26, a deal with $105 million guaranteed and worth an average of $33 million per season, according to the Dallas Morning News. The two sides were also close to a deal in September, according to reports, that would have paid Prescott approximately $33 million per season.

But the two-time Pro Bowl selection reportedly upped his price, and played out the final year of his four-year rookie contract this past season. That deal paid him approximately $2.7 million over the length of the contract.

This isn’t going to cut it. Still less than Wilson.

Jerry is kind of trapped here.

He never should have paid for Ezekiel Elliott.

Dak Prescott will never be the reason a team wins a Super Bowl. He’s a lower top 10 quarterback at best.

Dak benefitted from a good offensive line his first few years. Now that OL isn’t nearly as good.

What other moves are available to the Cowboys today? Try to get someone for the short term via free agency and draft some one else who can be groomed?

For the time being it's Dad...

Jerry Jones is a rare owner, who is his own general manager.

I never understand such owners. Why don’t they hire the best football men they can find, to best GM, head coach etc., And then get out of the way and let them do their jobs?

They essentially have a GM in Will McClay. He just doesn’t have the title.

Wilson has a SB win and took his team to another one. Dak only has one playoff win.

If an NFL team pays too much money for the starting QB, there will not be enough money for all the other players needed to win a Super Bowl. Dak is pricing his team out of contention.

Ezekiel Elliott priced his team out of contention.

And he still had two years on his original contract. Idiots!

Is that because of the salary cap, and taking so much of the salary allocation so they don’t have enough left over for other players?

No. He is an average QB demanding elite money. He should be paid as average QB.
