What’s relevant is how many of these are community-spread.
Snohomish County WA 18
Snohomish County is in Washington state, not California...
Norwell County MA
Norwell is a town in MA located in Plymouth County. There is no Norwell County.
More than a million test kits will be in use next week, so expect many more additional cases to be reported.
I noticed I omitted:
Nassau County NY with 1 case
in going back to check on Norwell 'County'.
So, what this says is cases are sporadic, few in number and relatively concentrated to areas that have high Asian populations, like California and Washington state. The odd one is Westchester County which they think is related to travel in the Middle East. Unfortunately, the media has done an effective job of driving people to panic and the markets are taking a hit. The infection rate in the US right now is .000067%. All mass hysterics for something that will be forgotten about in a month.
In General, keeping away from other people will not spread your germs or spread anyone else’s germs... But if people have to work and do other things, this is not possible...
Its not a hypothetical for me. A guy at one of our west coast facilities just tested positive and Im supposed to fly to Texas next week to meet with people from his office and our Texas office. Im not going. Just not doing it.
Nothing in Ohio or Michigan... Nothing in Minnesota... And so on...
Every one of his coworkers should be quarantined immediately.
Cities with high Asian populations. The two cases here in NJ are from towns that have Asian populations of about 50%.
“San Mateo County CO 2”
There is no San Mateo County in Colorado. Perhaps a typo and it was intended to be CA?
So, what this says is cases are sporadic, few in number and relatively concentrated to areas that have high Asian populations, like California and Washington stat
they haven’t tested that many nation wide yet...they just started testing more here and there and still with rather strict criteria as to who gets tested ...there are still a shortage of test kits
I believe your company would be negligent to allow them to continue working.
Or not
The press has hyped this virus in an effort to panic people
Do you even hear about influenza which wil kill tens of thousands this flu season? Of course not
Precisely
You hope. Glad you are an expert on this virus. I feel so much better now. /s
Need to add another to Harris Co., TX. Also, the Ft. Bend Co. one is a smidgen across the Harris Co. line. So, a total of 5 CV and 10 in self isolation around Houston. All traveled to Egypt so now to find everyone else in the travel group. The Ft. Bend Co. patient lives in Stafford (SW corner of Houston) which includes both Ft. Bend Co. and Harris Co. (Houston). The firemen did not enter his house, thank goodness, so they wont be quarantined unless they show symptoms. An employee at Channel View HS says a family member is one of the patients.
One of the above group, a research assistant, works at Rice Univ. (in Houston) so 14 people around him are in isolation.
Six at University of Houston are in self isolation after traveling to Italy and SK. Two more students are coming back from traveling and will self isolate.
Univ. of TX at San Antonio are bringing their 70 folks back from Italy and theyll be in isolation. I don’t know anything about the 1 listed in the op. Lackland AFB still has 11 positive cases and others still testing negative.
Hmm, a military helicopter just flew over this desk. They do that occasionally but it’s when several fly by that eyebrows raise.
