Per Cousin Vinny: The whole town got the flu.
“Aw, did I huwwt youww feeweeings?”
No you didnt hurt my “widdle feeeeelings”.
Your number is pure bulls*it.
The customer that just came in to pay his monthly bill told me he and his wife decided to cancel their trip to Vegas later this month. I was just telling him if it goes on much longer it’s going to impact the economy.
Previous to that, the large numbers would be posted together around
17:30 to 18:30 PST. That means that the majority of new cases, deaths,
and the recovered numbers would be spilled together.
On Monday the negative numbers were published at 13:30 and the positive
numbers three hours later at 16:30.
Yesterday the negative numbers were published at 9:30 & 12:30, with the
positive numbers coming in at 17:53.
Today that same format seems to be playing out. Large negative numbers
were reported at 9:30 and 12:30. It remains to be seen when the positive
numbers will show up.
What this means is that the increase in cases shows up starting as
much as eight hours or more before the recovery numbers show up.
This creates a false narrative that things are getting quickly worse.
Then the media runs with that.
To the contrary, by the end of the day these numbers more than balance out,
with the number of active cases shrinking each day.
I think it's a ploy to make this thing look worse than it is, and the
general public won't actually understand how they are being gamed.
Yesterday morning 1,337 new cases were announced at 09:43. At 12:33
that number had grown to 1,881, and that was made public. Not until 17:53
was it released that 2,621 cases had been resolved. At that time it was
reported that in total 2,184 total new cases had been reported during
the day.
Upshot of the day, there were 2,717 cases resolved yesterday,
and after balancing new cases with the resolved cases, there was a drop
in active cases of 494 cases.
I don't believe that is the message that will be broadcast to the public.
You guys are on a roll this morning I am so happy to see some sense of humor around here OMG all the doom and gloom on this site lately has been quite unbearable GEEZE, thanks for some lightheartedness!!!!
Sorry, I reached peak COVID about two weeks ago. I cant read one more thing about. Free Republic has gone completely viral.
Can’t read another?
Then simply DON’T...
Free country, FREE REPUBLIC...
That is true. NO ONE, friends, family or neighbors has brought it up in conversation. Pretty weird if you ask me. Online seems to be the place to discuss it.
Maybe YOUR friends...However, I was outwith 2 dear friends and both were talking about it...a lot. But then one had a son who had just gone on a cruise and the other has grand kids with severe respiratory issues...
I might add that the stock market seems to be concerned...as do all the shoppers who made a run on area Cost Co stores, businesses suggesting employees work from home, and businesses and colleges cancelling conferences and study abroad...
Some here really would like to be able to read these threads...If you don’t think they are relevant, why not just skip ‘em?
I sure am glad that there have only been 125 people infected.
This would be the time for the kids and grandkids of the elderly to step up and drive them where they need to go!! I am caring for my 90 yr. old mom right now, since she moved into my home I have had to be VERY CAREFUL not to bring anything home that she could catch!! My home is kept absolutely immaculate I have always been wiping counter tops with a bleach mixture when I do grocery shopping EVERYTHING is washed before putting it away!! This has been my life for 5 years now HOWEVER even a common cold can be dangerous for someone 90, I thank God everyday that I have not been sick since she moved in but I have also been very careful to not become ill for her sake!!! My mom is a very healthy 90 year old BUT anything could change that!!!
Check your math ... 125 into 9 = .o72
Deadier?
Now, since that percentage is accepted, how many not reported cases are missing from your 125 cases? The percentage will be much lower than 7.2%.
For those of you in Rio Linda.....
Wash your hands like you just cut up an onion, a boonie pepper, an habanero, and those jalapenos.
Nothing worse than pepper juice in your eye. You may cry from cutting an onion, but you will use a whole bottle of eye wash trying to get those eyes to quit stinging after handling peppers. Just throw away the contacts because you will never get that stuff out.
Goodness, I hate to see what “panic” looks like! My husband was talking to a friend who told him he witnessed 2 guys literally rolling on the floor fighting over the last package of toilet paper at Costco.
I think the CV threads are very important.. I’ve learned quite a bit.
Here in NJ, folks don’t seem to be very concerned.. yet.
You are posting without reading the article??
Just came from Portland. The large hospital West of town has it’s quarantine tent out at the emergency room entrance.
Signs on doors say it is a drill.
And Costco had rice and toilet paper but also a sign limiting purchases of those items.
There s COVID19 Type L and COVID419 Type S according to an earlier article on FR - the L type is more common and “mild”. The S type is less common but bad.
