AUSTIN, Texas Wendy Davis has won the Democratic nomination in Texas Congressional District 21. She will run against incumbent Chip Roy in the general election on Nov. 3 to determine who will represent the district in the U.S. House of Representatives.
AP called the race as Davis was ahead by a wide margin over her opponent, Jennie Lou Leeder.
Davis rose to fame after delivering a nearly 13-hour filibuster as a Texas State Senator in 2013. In 2014, Davis lost to Gov. Greg Abbott in Texas gubernatorial race.
Texas Congressional District 21 spans from Austin to San Antonio and covers Blanco and Gillespie counties.
According to Davis official campaign website, some of the issues she stands for include affordable healthcare for all Texans, common sense action regarding gun laws and reducing carbon emissions in the U.S.
More details on Davis policies can be found on her website.
Roy defeated Democrat Joseph Kopser in the 2018 general election. He filed for reelection in early December.
I thin MA Richards came from Waco, but I am not sure.
It also stretches to more conservative Hill Country counties to the west.
Davis, like E. Warren, was once a Republican.
Yeah, she was from the Waco area.
Good grief...her again??
Geez....this weeotch just won’t go away.
What do we know about this district? Is it conservative or lib?
Thanks.
Wendy Foley Davis
Look at the Mayor of Houston, Sylvester Turner. I believe he ran like, oh, a hundred times. lol Finally made it.
Mix of stuff. But, the hill country, and Texas in general has been invaded from people out of state.
Thank you, Californica imports.
Wendy (Miss Foley) Davis
Yeesh. I like that Chip Roy guy who has that district now.
nuff said
She did, and many others. It was a great label that probably cost her the election. It will again.
Hope he wins! We don’t need that ditzy loon back making things impossible to get done.
Exactly!
Thanks...I was wondering if this is a conservitive/Republican held seat, at this time.
I’ll do what I can to help Chip Roy.
Here in New Braunfels, we’re quite conservative. However, San Marcos, just to the north, contains Texas State University, with nearly 40,000 students and the associated faculty.
We have someone a lot like Wendy here in Houston who is running against Dan Crenshaw. Sima Ladjevardian
Dan is a rock star and I hope you can keep him!
