British rock band Genesis have confirmed they are reforming for a 2020 tour -- their first in 13 years.
Phil Collins, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford made the announcement during an appearance on Zoe Ball's BBC Radio 2 breakfast show Wednesday morning.
Revealing details of their comeback tour, they said they will perform a series of shows across the UK later this year.
The trio -- the band's classic line-up -- will be joined by Collins' 18-year-old son Nicholas on drums and longstanding associate Daryl Stuermer on guitar and bass.

Music is mostly a celebration of being alive, feeling the joy of living in the here and now. Being there as the music is made adds an extra kick. But then again, so does a beer.
Made me chuckle out loud....
Sitting at a table in a very small venue with Joe Henderson so close I could touch his shoe is a memorable memory.

I always liked the throwback tribute to Duke that he did on “face value”
No Gabriel
No Genesis
Hackett leaving changed the band more than Gabriel leaving.
I think Pete knew that he really couldn’t top The Lamb.
It was a case where the parting was best for all parties. Pete had a great solo career and Genesis sold a lot more records.
Steve's best work, IMHO. Blood on the Rooftops, Unquiet Slumbers for the Sleepers/In that Quiet Earth, is just great.

You have to think that Genesis will figure out a way to make that work to their advantage, instead of the solo tour (which I saw) which plunked him down in a convention hall chair with a stool. Dumbest thing you could imagine. The lighting bounced off the top of his head. He did not look comfortable. Did not care for the setlist.
But if they come across the pond (and they will), I'm all in.

Marillion—great band. Have you heard anything by Pete Trewavas’s side project, Transatlantic? Pete, Roine Stolt, Mike Portnoy, and Neal Morse. Really long, great modern prog albums.
I saw Genesis at Madison Square Garden in 1987. The teeny boppers in front of me had an excellent time dancing to “Invisible Touch” while I sat silent, but they didn’t understand why the crazy old guy behind them stood and started yelling like a wounded water buffalo as the band started into the opening raw rhythms of “Apocalypse in 9/8”. I read their lips saying “I don’t know this one, do you know this one?” I took much satisfaction from having the upper hand in that clash of cultures.
