Global health authorities have advised people to use contactless payments instead of banknotes where possible in order to stop spreading the new coronavirus.
Health experts have previously warned that the virus can survive on inert surfaces long enough to infect new hosts, although the risk is believed to be lower than human-to-human contact.
But a spokesperson for the World Health Organisation (WHO) told the Telegraph on Monday that the virus can remain infectious on banknotes for several days.
The Bank of England has also acknowledged that banknotes can carry bacteria or viruses and encourages shoppers to wash their hands after using them.

There are already two places that I know of that take cash only. One is the coffee-and-juice place called Joe and the Juice. The other is a fabulous bakery in the Village. I was about to buy an obscene amount of shortbread for gifts at Christmastime and passed them by when I found out.
Oh and there’s a coffee shop on Carmine Street. They are nice people and just gave me the coffee. Unfortunately for them, there is another good one right across the street that takes cash. C’est la vie!

I had a Wmrt app on my phone, nevr weorked right.

They keep coming up with more ways to pay without cash.
I’ve seen people pay with the WalMart app on their phone.
I am just using a basic phone now. My other phone I shut down; it required a monthly card. I’m just using a pay phone but every call and text deducts.
I don’t know that the phone could handle many apps anyways. So I’ve not tried to install any.
