RALEIGH, N.C. — A man in Wake County has tested positive for coronavirus, Gov. Roy Cooper said Tuesday. It is North Carolina’s first case of the new illness.

The man is in isolation at home, Cooper said, and "is doing well."

"We’ve been preparing for this, and we do expect to see more cases in North Carolina," Cooper said. "We are working closely with health care providers and others to quickly identify and respond to new cases."

The patient recently traveled to Washington state and was exposed to a longterm care facility that has had numerous cases of coronavirus, or COVID-19.

Well he’s doing well as I expect the majority of patients to do here.

Even that guy who left the hospital and was better said it was brutal but at no point did he feel like he was going to die

Being old and/or sick already..that’s a bad combination to have with this virus

Why is that nonsense? Is that not what we have been hearing all along? People test positive for the virus, but have no symptoms?

No. That the inane health officials are saying anyone who had contact (in all of airports, planes, etc) aren’t at risk, since this guy was asymptomatic.

SEATTLE - Six people have now died from the coronavirus in the Puget Sound area and at least 12 others have been infected, health officials said Monday, as King County’s top executive issued an emergency declaration in response to the outbreak.

The newest victims in King County include:

- A man in his 70s, a resident of LifeCare who was hospitalized at EvergreenHealth. The man had underlying health conditions and died Sunday.

- A woman in her 70s, a resident of LifeCare, was hospitalized at EvergreenHealth. She had underlying health conditions and died Sunday.

- A woman in her 80s, who was hospitalized at EvergreenHealth and was one of the earlier reported infected and died Sunday.

Thanks for that summary.

So this man who has the virus traveled by air from Seattle and was no doubt around many others after he got back....so seems to me there will be a need to quarantine quite a few people....especially the ones on the plane.

That is up to your governor and his medical advisors.

This nursing home seems to be a hive re the ChiCom virus.

The fatalities and sick people should raise a lot of concern in that area.

A big question: Did this guy know about the ChiCom Virus in that nursing home, and he still got on an airplane and flew to your home state???

Good luck and may you and your family stay safe.

One last thing, this “traveler” needs to be tested with the CDC test kits as a priority, asap!

Thanks, will do.

Today a friend who lives in Raleigh and who is unfortunately extremely liberal politically called to tell me she was sick with a virus (but not the coronavirus). She said she went to a Rally for Pete Buttboy on Saturday and probably contracted it there.............

I am just sayin’ this because we were supposed to have lunch together tomorrow. That obviously was cancelled due to her illness.

Anyway - it just makes you wonder now - about the associates of this man who has the caronavirus - where did he go before he was diagnosed.....

As of 6 pm, the Target in Morrisville had water and TP but was out of almost every cleaning product containing bleach or Lysol. I needed hand soap (completely out) so ran in and there were two refill sized bottles left.
