Mortality in the US from all flus and all pneumonias is 0.1%
(Update 0950ET): A Yeshiva University student who is the son of the Westchester County man infected by the coronavirus, has also been diagnosed with the illness, the school announced Wednesday. “We have unfortunately received news this morning that out student has tested positive for COVID-19. Our thoughts are with him and his family as well as to all those affected,” Yeshiva said in a statement. “We are taking every precaution by canceling all classes on Wilf Campus in Washington Heights. This includes all in-person graduate courses on that campus as wall as the boys’ high school,” it added.
The student’s father, attorney Lawrence Garbuz, 50, runs a boutique law firm with his wife that also employs one of their four kids as a paralegal, according to information posted online. The seven-lawyer practice, Lewis & Garbuz, is located across the street from Grand Central Terminal.
In addition to the son. Garbuz’s wife and daughter, as well as a neighbor who drove the man to the hospital, are among the new cases confirmed in the state.
According to Governor Cuomo, this means that there are now 6 confirmed cases of coronavirus in New York State.

One person is hospitalized while five others are being monitored at home, Ferrer said. The county’s first patient, a Chinese national who was diagnosed in January, has recovered from the virus, she said.
“Three of the new cases were travelers who were traveling together in northern Italy,” Ferrer said at a news conference. Two others are relatives of a person who was infected with the coronavirus outside of the county, she said. The sixth case is a person who works in a field that exposes them to international travelers, Ferrer added.

Exposure to travelers? Gate agent? Ticket agent? Hotel? Airport screener? Taxi driver?
“The six cases were confirmed by a local lab, Ferrer said.... None of the patients were exposed through community transmission.
“All of our six new cases are linked to an assumed known exposure,” Ferrer said. “There’s either a travel history to an area with an outbreak. There’s exposure to known travelers coming from areas where there’s an outbreak. Or the person is a close contact with a confirmed case.”
On Tuesday night, Kaiser Permanente West L.A. Medical Center confirmed it was monitoring a coronavirus patient who was self-quarantined in their home.
Would have been nice is they had isolated the person who brought it to Wake county NC.

I don’t think so. I posted a misc. chit chat post on why he shut it down. That post was promptly taken down and shortly after the comments were turned back on.
I called out HG as needing a time out, not all the others who are providing info or gaining more knowledge from this thread.
Maybe Jim scanned the thread and realized there was 1 person poisoning the thread.

So the even the neighbor who drove him to the hospital is infected. That is interesting, most likely they did not kiss and hold hands on the way to the hospital.

Princess says the Grand Princess cruise ship has canceled its call at Ensenada, Mexico, and will sail directly to San Francisco. The ship will arrive on Thursday afternoon.
