40-year old accusation. She had 35 years to tell somebody before now. Not getting it. I am not saying she is lying, but when you wait 40 years to tell anybody, then what do you expect to happen. Beyond that, there are so many fake rape allegations, i just dont know what to think about this one.

Leftist or not, his response is pretty firm and straight forward. That says a lot. His FBI affidavit leaves him open to perjury (I would think), so that’s ballsy move for a guilty man.
The #metoo movement went off the rails early on. Unfortunately for the genuine victims of assault, it has pretty much destroyed their credibility.
As far as this one goes, I’m not convicting a man simply on the basis of a nearly 4 decades old accusation. If she was indeed a victim then I feel for her, but evidence matters, even when the accused is a man.
Unfortunately, her mother worked in the film industry and fairly or unfairly mom believed she would not only lose her current job but also probably be unable to find work in the future!
That situation could and evidently did pose a real threat to loss of livelihood, being employed in a similar industry as Hutton (and I’m also assuming raising her daughter as a single woman.)
As awful as the situation was at the time, I’m hoping mom took her to the ER or at least the family physician to be examined after the event occurred, one presumes even that didn’t happen to protect this girl by her own mother, especially to determine if the 14 year old contracted a social disease.
Going on the presumption that a sex act of some kind did occur, at the age of 14, even if consensual, would have been criminal due to her young age, that she was too young to give consent and mother’s abdication of even minimal consideration of her daughter’s health and well-being was ignored, the 14 year old was wronged by both Hutton and her mother.
The most one could really hope for at this late date is an apology from Hutton and a sincere acknowledgement of just how neglectful this mother was to her own juvenile daughter.

is credible & is reported immediately or soon after, & there is evidence you
WILL be believed! But there is so much
shame associated with rape some women
don’t report it at all.
Then there’s the excruciating details of the police report, the DA & questions about my sex life & asked many times many ways. Having to keep
telling what happened over & over
was horrific.
My boss came to pick me up for work
because my car broke down. He busted the door down as I was screaming. He saved my life. One bad man. One good one.
It took me a while to trust men again
But one man is not all men.
The true victims I weep with. The liars destroying a man’s life disgust
