Better Call Saul Season 5 Episode 2 - Recap & Review "50% Off"

Poor Lydia.
I’m so glad they got Ed Galbraith (Robert Forster) to reprise his role as the “disapperer”. Someday I’m going to try to memorize the secret phrase that Saul, Walt, Jesse, and finally Gene repeat to activate the escape plan. Something about a “I need to order a replacement for a Hoover super-pro extractor adapter model...”.
When I first saw “The Day The Earth Stood Still” I memorized “Gort, Klatu Barada Nictu” just in case I ever needed it to stop an angry robot from frying me.
Jesse couldn’t remember it in El Camino and Ed refused to help him until he doubled his absurd fee. I don’t want to be stuck in that situation.
Agreed. Forster was a great actor. Sad that he passed last October. Will miss him in the Breaking Bad/Saul franchises... and also on Twin Peaks if there’s ever a new season.
When Lalo gets suspicious about the take from the drug house and tests the crystal meth, he separates the bags and samples one. It hits him like a mule and he says, “This isn’t our product”.
Is this a hint that Gus has been getting product from Walt and Jesse at this point in time? It didn’t look blue but I know Walt was cooking for Gus before the laundry lab was completed. Also, did you notice the scene with Gus and Gale in the lab under construction?
“The client has to ask for a dust filter for a Hoover Max Extract® 60 Pressure Pro to get in contact with him.”
Hot damn! Hank and Gomey are back tonight!
That's very close! I think all you're missing is a number 60 in there somewhere :)
Thanks, I’m writing that down and putting in my safe just in case.
That was so funny. I hadn’t heard that in decades when I watched old movies all the time.
One of my favorites is Delta Force (that's not sarcasm).
He had better roles than this. But he played the character (politically incorrect now) with just the right amount of charm and sleaziness that when Chuck Norris finally wipes the floor with him, we know he deserved every punch and kick.
The Delta Force (1986) - Going Somewhere?
He was 45 at the time.
I didn’t know it would be this soon, but it fits. In Breaking Bad, Hank said that Krazy-8 was one of his snitches.
What I’m trying to figure out is where’s Emilio in all this? Jesse mentioned that he was caught dead to rights and Saul got him off the hook. (”BB Better Call Saul episode). But here they have Krazy-8 caught with the dope....maybe a later episode...who knows...
How long until this gets to Netflix? I got a friend’s password and I unplugged cable TV years ago.
It could be another year or more before the entire season is on Netflix.

Oh Lydia, oh Lydia, say have you met Lydia?
Lydia, the Tattooed Lady
She has eyes that folks adore so
And a torso even more so
Lydia, oh Lydia, that encyclopydia
Oh Lydia the Queen of Tattoo
On her back is the Battle of Waterloo
Beside it the wreck of the Hesperus, too
And proudly above waves the red, white, and blue
You can learn a lot from Lydia
When her robe is unfurled, she will show you the world
If you step up and tell her where
For a dime you can see Kankakee or Paris
Or Washington crossing the Delaware
Oh Lydia oh Lydia, say have you met Lydia?
Oh Lydia the Tattooed Lady
When her muscles start relaxin’
Up the hill comes Andrew Jackson
Lydia oh Lydia, that encyclopydia
Oh Lydia the queen of them all
For two bits she will do a mazurka in jazz
With a view of Niagara that nobody has
And on a clear day you can see Alcatraz
You can learn a lot from Lydia
Come along and see Buff’lo Bill with his lasso
Just a little classic by Mendel Picasso
Here is Captain Spaulding exploring the Amazon
Here’s Godiva but with her pajamas on
Here is Grover Whalen unveilin’ the Trilon
Over on the West Coast we have Treasure Island
Here’s Najinsky a-doin’ the rhumba
Here’s her social security numba
Oh Lydia, oh Lydia that encyclopydia
Oh Lydia the champ of them all
She once swept an Admiral clear off his feet
The ships on her hips made his heart skip a beat
And now the old boy’s in command of the fleet
For he went and married Lydia
I said Lydia (He said Lydia)
They said said Lydia (We said Lydia)
La La!
