Third case of COVID-19 infection reported in Florida
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) Florida officials on Tuesday reported a third person testing positive for a new strain of coronavirus, as states across the country struggle to keep abreast of the spreading threat from a rising number of infections.
Meanwhile, Florida health officials also expressed frustration that New York officials did not inform them of the infection of a New York patient who had traveled to Miami. Florida learned about the case through the news media.
Two of the Florida cases have been confirmed while the third made public Tuesday is awaiting confirmation from federal health officials.

You know there is a real emergency when the emergency broadcast system fails during the warning. Like it did in Los Angeles as the city was on fire during the LA riots.
I just got back from wally world. On my way in, I saw a professional guy in a nice suit, crew cut, grab sanitizer wipes to clean the cart handle. Passed him later and didn’t think to look in his cart but I looked back and saw gator-ade 8 packs hanging on all sides of his cart. Plenty of Lysol on blue jugs but I got the last yellow. No food items low. Got up to checkout and didn’t even have to wait. Then the cashier coughed while facing the bag she was filling and didn’t cover so she basically coughed on our food. 60-65 y.o. woman. This is the one time I wish there wasn’t enough cashiers(usually the case) so I would have had to use self checkout.
The store is over 100 miles from the nearest city, St Louis, and 60 miles from the interstate. Rural. I think people here, that actually watch the news. Figure this is just going to be a city thing. UPS, FedEx, USPS and every distributor that serves this area, are all based out of St Louis.
I’ll be going out every morning this week to get something. Different direction each time. Got mostly canned goods at walmart. I don’t do produce or meat from walmart. New grocery ads come out tomorrow so I’ll be checking those for meat deals. Gonna try and fill the little chest freezer we just bought. I’ve got a generator I can run a couple of times a day. I doubt we’d lose electric but if so, we’ll use the freezer and a cooler. I do have an RV fridge that will run on propane so I can set that up if needed.
We’re supposed to take a trip to Virginia in May. We’ll see how things are going then. They people we’d be visiting go on missions to China once a year. If they go this year, I don’t think we’ll be visiting them.
And you know, thinks the sort of stuff that people should do regardless of COVID-19.
Frankly, I discourage people being in my office if I am not there. Yes, it's company property, but things happen. Several years ago, I left a $20 bill in my office (locked) under a stapler so I would remember to get snacks or something. I came into work very early the next day and $20 was gone. The only people that had been in there were the cleaners. Went to the Director of Buildings and said that a cleaner had taken a $20 off my desk. He said no way and I said "Okay, but I'll need to let the security staff know "for their records". Next day had a $20 bill in an envelope on my desk. The cleaner in that area was re-assigned, and ended up leaving a few months later with little notice.

The other thing I would mention is for the most part the only reason the cleaners go into offices is to empty trash baskets. I ended up removing mine as it rarely had trash in it anyways (sensitive items were shredded, bottles, etc I take home, etc.). The cleaners rarely go in there. They CAN, but it’s one less office to check.
That's somewhat cryptic. What do they mean specifically?
Im glad you said that. This thing is wayyyy too virulent to have mass gatherings of any sort. Especially with liberals knowing they can weaponize it.
Think about the age it affects the worst, and how many over 50 are at the rallies.
I wish he could do online rallies and have people pay to attend. I would. And it still provides the number of supporters he has.

Well I don’t know the areas. I do know that there are the types I describe in the PNW in general. I’m a member of a forum on permaculture(organic gardening, commune style) and there are many convos about how we bath too much and a lot of members from the PNW. We have a few here too and we also get a nomadic group called the rainbow people that camps here and there around these parts. They travel the whole nation though. They dumpster dive or barter for food.
lol - maybe the cleaner worked in a hotel before and thought you were leaving a tip !
Wonder if going outside after a good rain is safer then going out before the rain ? Thinking it cleanses the viri. Our rivers and sewage systems are gonna be hotter then Alex Jones forehead.
If I get sick and go to the hospital I will bring a box of masks for the folks taking care of me :-)
Any html at all will cause it to switch into an html editor
We have a dedicated cleaning person. Once a month they do a deep clean, so we have to all empty our desks. But we are also in an open office environment and don’t have purely dedicated desks, although a lot of us sit in the same place every day. So it is nice to clean in case others have sat or touched the keyboards.
However many of my masks were in the bird flu scare days. Hopefully not expired. I ordered some in January, was told they were unavailable because of the pandemic. Then they showed up anyway. Weird.
