I booked this trip to Marakech 6 months ago, since it would fulfill my bucket list of visiting every populated continent. There is no way I am going to Antartica.
I—an Honorary Serb!!—went to a muslim country for a very good reason some time in the 2000s! (I will not provide any more info, to preserve my privacy.) However, there was no pandemic to worry about.
DallasBiff, you should cancel, and perhaps go back there after the pandemic is over. And it WILL be over, despite what the fear-mongers say!!!!
Thank you but please direct your good suggestions to the poster.
I had a casual conversation last Friday with a highly sophisticated biomedical guy. He was level headed about the current situation but said that the ease of transmission was a real concern. He also said that there was no way he would get on an airplane until we have a better handle on this thing. You might want to rethink discretionary travel.

Middle East takes extra precautions as world grapples with coronavirus outbreak
3/2/20
18:18 GMT - Morocco will postpone sports and cultural events over coronavirus fears, a government committee charged with overseeing the states response to the disease said on Sunday, state media reported.
Morocco says it has tested 25 people suspected of having the coronavirus but so far all the tests have come back negative. The country has not confirmed any cases
I usually do Caribbean cruises, but this time I’m just doing an all-inclusive in a rather private area on the far end of one of the islands, far from the tourist areas. Flight leaves this week. Hopefully flights back home will still be going next week!!!
Hmmmm....Morocco (who HAS cancelled public events, and, is on ANOTHER continent)....or, Disney World and New Orleans (different world, same continent/country, last time I checked).
Kind of a YUGE difference, there.
I wouldn’t go to ANY foreign country, right now...just in case there is a quarantine/shut down.
Amen, to that.
Exquese me? What’s to think? You been listening to CSNY too much!
at all?
My son is supposed to go to FL through Tampa Saturday.
Travel insurance does not cover choosing not to fly in advance; read the policy to see what few things they cover.
If you want to go, then just go. This scary bug is also known as a flu bug. The reactions of the MSM and our blessed government are to keep you upside-down.
While there, stay to well-known places, hire a guide, and do not speak your mind about anything. You will have a good time.
Take hand-wipes and use them in airports and enroute. Buy liquid sanitizer once on the ground. Use them frequently and wash your hands at every opportunity. Avoid touching your face. In other words, be sanitary. Don’t shake hands, just nod politely.
Forget the handwipes. Use DAWN Dishwashing soap.
What would worry me more than being in Morocco is taking a plane there. You don’t know where other passengers have been or if they have kept themselves clean. Bucket list later if you can.
Antarctica is far safer.
You might want to wait and possibly a travel waiver will be issued. This might give you a full refund.
We are leaving for Gran Canaria Thursday morning for a week at an all-inclusive resort. In May we are flying to the UK, my wife meeting with a group of ladies that she went to college with and in June we have booked a house in Tenby for a week. The only thing that will stop us is travel restrictions.
I am talking about things that may already be in your medical records, not disclosing something new. That said, I agree.
Wife and I had discussed going to Spain this spring back in early 2019, but the timing of going there and other things going on us made us decide against the trip. Hard to say I got lucky to not take the trip as we really would like to go there, but in the end it has probably worked out for the best, because we would probably be going either end of this month or early next month.
Also were planning on going to either a Real Madrid or Barcelona match while there, but who knows what is going to happen in Spain with regard to public sports events, given how many Serie A matches have been cancelled in Italy.
I’m going to Tanzania in May for my “official” Africa Continent for a Photo Safari.
I’ve been to Egypt but I consider it more Middle East and not Africa.
South America and Antarctica only ones left.
Not really worried about Virus yet.
Adding to my post #17, if you are determined to visit Africa, take a look at the Spanish North Africa city of Ceuta. As I noted earlier, Id rather be in a Spanish city than a Moroccan one if real trouble breaks out.

Better to be safe than sorry works for me every time.
