They are two of the most beloved artists of all time: Edgar Degas, celebrated for his extraordinary draftsmanship and tender, dynamic paintings of ballerinas; and Vincent van Gogh, adored not just for his tragic life story, but for his shimmering canvases, those world-famous images of starry nights and bright sunflowers.
Now, a museum dedicated to Van Gogh's oeuvre is asking whether it is "appropriate," in anno 2020, to exhibit a drawing by Degas.
To be sure, it's not just any drawing. The sketch in question depicts a bathing woman from behind, her derriere revealed in all its flesh and glory. It is also a drawing the Amsterdam-based Van Gogh Museum purchased last year at auction for the eye-widening price of $6 million.
Yet apparently even before acquiring the "Bather," part of a series Van Gogh is known to have especially admired, museum staff discussed the issue of whether it could or should be placed on view. Earlier this month, the Van Gogh Museum's new director, Emilie Gordenker, observed on Dutch national TV that while she is pleased the work is now hanging in the museum, she considers it important to address the question of "whether female nudes are appropriate for people of all cultures."
This, as everyone immediately understood, was code, a subtle way of asking, really, whether nudes should be exhibited at all in a museum located in a city where Muslims happen to live.

Hack “artist” Maplethorope insults Christian, no problem.
Genuine art genius “insults” Muslims, problem?
Face it, Holland. Islam is the problem.
Sick of this. Kill the invaders!
Frightening. The leftists will let the muslims return us to the Middle Ages.
Well obviously they should burn it if it offends a Muslim.
I’d rather see the muslim burned at the stake instead.
If you’ve ever been to Italy and seen the great artworks dating back more than 2000 years and to the present-
Imagine it all destroyed when the muslims took over.
When they took Egypt someone asked if they should consider preserving the great libraries. The answer was if it’s consistent with the Koran we don’t need it, if inconsistent it must be destroyed - so destroy it all.
We should be sensitive to the feelings of muslims; depicting a bath will always be very offensive to them.
If you’re going to adjust your practices to avoid offending Muslims, be prepared to be real busy.
Reminds me of one of my favorite bits in the movie “Jackie Brown”, when Ordell Robbie tells Beaumont Livingston, in terms of bailing his butt out of trouble “And I don’t mind telling you, n****, it’s steady work”
Islam means submission.
Whatever is done to acquiesce to muslims is submission.
Submit or Die
It’s the prime directive of Islam.
Example number one million of how the West is bowing to the Muslims. Censor the painting today. Burn the painting tomorrow.
THAT, right there, is called “Islamophobia”.

Muzzies only go to museums to destroy, vandalize, or steal for the black market. Emilie Gordenker doesn't belong anywhere near any museum, either.
If the word “museum” is not mentioned in the quran, then muslimes have no business going to a museum.
If they want to go to a museum, they should create their own and stay out of ours.
Europe is dead.
Why not just ban Muslims from the museum; or Amsterdam? (Need I continue?!)

Okay...but $6,000,000 for that?
A friend of my dad is German, he hadn’t seen him in a while and he recently asked him how Germany was doing and he said two words “It’s gone”. What gets me is how small the population of some of these European countries are. Norway for example only has a population of 5 million. It’s only a matter of time before they are taken completely over and forced to become Islamic states. If they can take over Germany, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Netherlands, Denmark should be no problem.
