Today’s Cryptogram

Posted on 02/29/2020 2:16:03 AM PST by nikos1121

Today’s fantastic CG is from The Arkansas Gazette. The author appears here a couple times per year. I’d rate it as “Easy”.

2 minutes would be an excellent score.

Hint:ABCA is not always what you think it is.

AWYI WR K QOKBIAAWMX QN QUI ILXI NY GMNJAILXI, QUIM K AIKT QKGIM. —L.U. AKJOIMDI

You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram.

Got the solution rather quickly BUT when reviewing it, had the thought that all I did was fill in the letters...it looked like something was ‘missing’.

googled the author for the quote and sure enough it is as written....

Ye ‘olde English strikes again....<: <: <:

Pretty easy one, 3 minutes or so...guessed the sixth word then it was off to the races.
Women are in love with this author!

He was a favorite of my English teaching father. I make an effort to read him, once in a while, but find it tedious.

It’s old school...my Gen X son says the same thing about the classic movies I like, that the acting is overly dramatic.

One of those that just came out weirdly quick, no hints needed.

It was before Prozac.

Drama is coming back, if the millenials of my acquaintance are any indicator.
