The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) took four days to test a woman with the first confirmed case of coronavirus where the origin of the disease is unknown because she hadn't traveled abroad or been exposed to an infected patient as experts warn the deadly virus could spread quickly in the US like it did in Italy.
The woman, who is a resident of Solano County, which is about 35 miles outside of Sacramento, was admitted into UC Davis Medical Center on February 19.
But questions are now being asked over the CDC's handling of the case after an email from medical center officials to employees revealed that the CDC took four days to test the patient for the deadly disease despite requests from staff at the center.
The leaked memo also suggested medical center staff may have been unnecessarily put at risk after dozens were told to go into isolation and watch for symptoms. According to the email, the CDC didn't test the patient, who has not been identified, for coronavirus until February 23.
It has also been revealed that experts like Dr Adrian Hyzler, the chief medical officer for Healix International, believe the virus could spread in the US overnight like it did in Italy.
'It spreads very rapidly because of the ease with which you can pass on this virus through respiratory droplets and surface spread,' Hyzler told The Daily Beast.
'There is every possibility that this could happen in the US,' Hyzler said, referring to the outbreaks in Iran and Italy.
Hyzler then pointed to a place like New York City where the coronavirus 'would spread very rapidly on a crowded subway or metro system'.

Agreed. He was spot on in his approach.
My point is that he did not dismiss the situation...like some here have seemingly made it their life mission to do...
I trust Trump...eh but I don’t have the same trust for all of his staff...
Go read another thread then. You censors are like a bunch of little old busybodies with nothing else to do than make a nuisance of yourselves.
Obviously, the thread isn’t your cup of tea-so take a hike and stop harrassing the OP! People like me enjoy getting data from wherever I can. I WILL DECIDE IF I BELIEVE IT OR NOT- I DON’T NEED YOU FOR CENSORSHIP.
I don’t see them.
Do you? Perhaps you’re the one that lives in a shithole.
South Korea reports 315 more cases of new coronavirus, total now at 2,337
I, personally am grateful for the posts. If you dont like it, get the hell out of here. Go read something else.
I’m beginning to think these trolls are on Chinese payrolls, here to squelch people from posting and sharing data.
So did the virus escape Travis AFB which is very close by?
Just an observation, but does anyone else find it curious that the hot, poor, densely populated countries with poor health practices and facilities, no travel bans and many people traveling there from mainland China (e.g. Chinese workers) have not experienced cases of the virus of any significance? Even poorer countries near China, like the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, etc have been able to avoid it.
What do these poor, hot countries have in common? It is the lack of, or at least relatively low levels of air conditioning.
At the same time the hot countries that are rich enough to have plentiful air conditioning, like Singapore and Hong Kong, have had significant spreads of the virus. Singapore publishes detailed reports on every single case (which the United States should do) and the virus had been transmitted to Singaporean residents only in air conditioned places.
The recent outbreaks around the world have all been in cool places: Northern Italy, Tehran and Seoul all still have temperatures in the 40s (Fahrenheit).
Gives us plenty of hope that this influenza will fade when the weather gets warmer. (But it could still spread in the Southern Hemisphere as the weather gets cooler in South America, Southern Africa, Australia, etc).
Note: These are just my personal unscientific observations.
Hehe...the people telling us not to post here are calling us censors.
No doubt the virus is serious and I also appreciate seeing the facts, no matter how dire they are; but if we think people are spreading unsubstantiated rumors we are going to say so, whether you like it or not.
Really Joe...do you want to go down that tribal road. Get real...Tell me your state and we can find all sorts of really scummy problems with it....Why in your neighborhood there are democrats...voting for...democrats...and if that is happening in your perfect world...imagine what is happening elsewhere...
CA is reported to have only 200 Kits and missed a diagnosis by many days because of the shortage and CDC guidelines in place at the time.
The Sudan...for example, doesn't have the sheer volume of daily international travels either.
It's probably a combination of many factors.
why are you so negative all the time? I had to go all the way back to

to find something NICE you said.
FRiend, try to look more at the beauty and joys of life. We’re all in this together, and none of us will get out alive. All we can do is try to help each other, so playing the democrat hate game is NOT going to help anyone
If she's an illegal alien, we may never hear the facts in public.
Hmmmn, perhaps it won't spread here in California. Solano County and Sacramento have warm temps. Here in South San Francisco temps are in the low 70s, it's been a warm February, and most people here do not have air conditioning (I don't).
I think it did. Of the 350 million people in this country, the ONLY person to have contracted Coviid-19 without know how just happens to live in that very area. Coincidence? I find it hard to believe.
They are willingly allowing this plague to infest the country, and destroying god only knows how many lives, in the attempt to discredit and remove President Trump.

Did you see the date on that?
January 26. According to the Johns Hopkins coronavirus tracker site, on that day,
there were only 2600 *cases*. Not deaths. Cases.
In a country with over a billion people.
So why’d he post that?
Lock suspected coronavirus patients in a room and leave straight away! UK doctors given extraordinary instruction by health bosses amid fears contagious Chinese disease has made its way to Britain.
That article was back in JANUARY, when China had less that 1000 infected (not dead, infected), in a country of over a billion people.
Sod off, Swampy.
Who is we?
