“Because those protocols are normally in writing and there is an annual training.”

I have no idea, but I’m guessing the protocols are for “What to do when admitting a person with a deadly virus.” And I’m guessing they just figured he was the “normal” kind of sick.

I used to work on HazWaste sites. In training they said that even if you were injured, decontamination was essential. Or at least let the medics know. One story had the guy admitted into the hospital without going through decon, and then they had to close it down for a few days to get it clean again. (The environmental company that sent their contaminated employee to the ER got billed for it all.)

I don’t see how they could not have known about it. It was all over the news that those people were being repatriated, and there was all sorts of pictures of people on the plane in hazmat suits.

I’ll be interested to learn more about this—and whether it’s even being reported accurately or is just more making stuff up like that so called whistleblower/phone call with Ukraine.

And that is what pisses me off about TPTB who have been pretending it’s not here in the US. I figure it’s been in the wild here for some time but the lack of testing helps that illusion.

There is one thing I don’t understand about Trinh’s analysis: Isn’t the Chinese labor shortage “artificial” / caused BY the gov’t locking things down?

That being the case, what on earth good does it do for “deep pocket” employers to offer higher wages? Even if the lure of higher pay encouraged workers to defy the gov’t, how could Foxconn, for example, sneak 2000 workers into some factory before the lockdowns are eased?

And then if the lockdowns are eased, people have to work: why would there be a need to pay several months wages as an incentive to bring workers back? I’d think the workers would be champing at the bit, so to speak. Unless, of course, the virus is far more deadly in China than we think, in which case China might be looking at a substantial loss of their working population for at least a generation - an even more grievous loss than what Trinh postulates — and they’d be forced to stay shut down until warm weather arrives. (Don’t ask me what they’d do next “flu” season unless a vaccine is devised.)

Something just doesn’t add up, here.

My GP always prescribed antibiotics if I got a really bad cold. He said it was to prevent any bacterial pneumonia that might be starting, but I wonder if he knew they had some effect on viruses. The cold always went away at once.

Now I use more preventive measures and don’t get colds that much anymore.

the complaint appears to stem from the first rescue flights, conducted 7 days after Wuhan lockdown. All passengers were asymptomatic prior to flight (or they wouldn’t have been allowed on) and asymptomatic after flight. That is, there were no cases of COV in either first flight to Travis and March.

Both groups completed quarantine around Feb 15 and from first hand accounts we know that all quarantines were required to wear masks any time they were outside their room or opened their room’s door. Masks were available at the check-in point for (official) visitors and patients were given new masks every day.

Initially, we had no information about P2P. The lying conniving lowlife CCP withheld evidence of P2P and possible ‘shedding’ until just before our last Wuhan rescue flights. And even then, reports from China were conflicting
.
Fortunately, the USAF put precautions in place anyway. Which is why we saw the first use of an isolation chamber and medics wearing full rebreathers on the third and subsequent flights. Photos of which were in every major newspaper.

This ‘whistleblower” is nothing more than a rabble-rouser who’s complaint is not based on fact or reality on the ground. I’m glad they were reassigned. Fired would be better.

It's not a pandemic yet, but most people understand exactly what the potential of this virus is. "Hype and fear mongering", AKA quarantines, travel restrictions, aggressive contact tracking, social distancing and increased protective measures, are the only thing standing between 'outbreak' and 'pandemic'. When a virus has an R0 of 2+, the only thing stopping global spread is taking active measures to prevent that spread.

If you think countries with large numbers of infections are closing factories, schools, transportation and public gatherings with no threat, you are mistaken.

To avoid a run on pharmacies. Note that with automatic refills by mail being the norm, the first indication most people will get is when they don’t get their refill. If they are lucky, EXPRESS SCRIPT, or whatever service their insurance uses, will let them know 2 weeks in advance that they are unable to refill their prescription due to insufficient stock...

crossposting from yesterday’s thread Re: LilFarmer’s post #812:

I just spent an hour looking for any article that mentioned camostat, and like a little angel, poof, you posted one. Yay!. Thanks :)

Quoted from source link:

“Collectively, SARS-CoV-2 can use TMPRSS2 for S protein priming and 209
“camostat mesylate, an inhibitor of TMPRSS2, blocks SARS-CoV-2 infection of lung cells.

They are not monitoring 8,000. It is important to watch the language being used. They are voluntarily self-quarantine. Saying they are being monitored implies a different scale of medical care and causes confusion.

yet another reason Pelosi is a hypocrite calling herself a Christian - she doesn’t think a Christian can make evidence-based decisions....

Congressional efforts to strike coronavirus funding agreement plagued by partisanship

“Pelosi also said she expressed concern to Vice President Mike Pence in a phone call Thursday morning that Trump tapped him to lead the administration’s response to the coronavirus....“This is about resources, it’s also about personnel,” Pelosi said. “It’s also about respect for science, for evidence-based decision making...

Good to know thanks. BUT we can’t stop others from panicking so i figure stock up some so I’m not in a bind. We live in an area where if you mentioned snow storm or gurricane people instinctively flock to the grocery store and cause havoc for normal everyday shoppers that either thought ahead or aren’t in a panic. Media is mostly to blame and you never know what they are going to mention. Still better to be prepared. There might be food ready to ship out, but only if there are drivers to deliver it or workers to receive it if folks panic and stay home or some actually get sick.
